I'm new to this site so any help would be great.. I have a 1999 jeep cherokee sport with a 4.0 and when I put it in reverse it immediately stalls. I have changed the crankshaft position sensor, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve , map sensor and pick up coil. Also checked fuel pressure and it is good. If I place it in drive it may drive for miles or it may drive a few feet before it just shuts off.. please help. I have checked all the wiring and found no issues. If the rear end is on stands and placed in reverse it runs fine but if it is on the ground and you try to drive in reverse it stalls out

I would have a look at the wire bundle which runs around the back of the cylinder head. It can be shaving against a bolt and causing a short, when the engine moves a bit while torque is applied.
