Have owned 2012 grand cherokee overland for a few months, now having a sloshing noise coming from the drivers side rocker panel ( under floor foot step ). I thought i had clogged drain - have had heavy rains for 2 weeks; took to dealer with that statement. Got a response, told it was the gas in the gas tank. where is the gas tank located ? If this is the case , has anyone else had this problem? The dealership hasn't come back with solution or fix yet , but wondering why after a few months of ownership is the sound showing up now ?

Have you looked in the floor compartments under both front seats? Move both seats fully forward - lift compartment covers. If AC drain is not draining to the outside or sunroof is not draining properly water can collect in those compartments.

If you do a forum search, you will find other threads that go into great detail about this. There are more than one reason for the sloshing sound, and are correctable.
