Hi, just got my 2014 JGC overland and thought i would take some time and post some pics and give some feedback.

this is my 4th jeep in a row, had an 89 cherokee, 2005 JGC limited, 2011 overland and now this one. i must say that i thought my 2011 was the best, scale of 1 to 10? i thought it was a 9. after having my 2014 for 3 days, and 600 miles, my 2011 wasn't a 9. maybe 6? This is the best JGC ever.

Now with that said, I do have some input.

-the new navigation system with the interactions is incredible BUT the gps system itself for use of directions is terrible. the routing that it gives you for how to get from point a to point b is silly. maybe i have it on the wrong setting but so far, not impressed. LOVE the phone interactions, works great with the iphone. love the heated seat and steering wheel, the AC and everything else. directions are just horrible.

-my headlights after the 2nd car wash had MOISTURE built up on the inside o the lens. not happy about that but dealer will take care of. ironically i had the same issue with my 2011 but not this fast, and not this obvious. i had a film on the inside build up slowly. on the 2014, it took 2 car washes. grrr.

-i got the white with beige interior. Also had the same color in my 2011. I couldn't figure it out right away, but as it turns out, the carpet in 2011 were dark brown that hid everything. 2014, the carpet is light beige and shows EVERYTHING. no big deal, just something to point out for the tan interior folks.

-the dash is AWESOME! LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. can't say enough about how awesome it is.

-the air condition vents. i don't remember, but i swore in my 2011 that the vent adjustment dials lit up at night. they are pitch black. i swore that the X for vent closed lit but maybe its my own crazy talking.

-getting used to the shifter is tough. i find myself going into neutral sometimes. its amazing how 2nd nature having the gearshift in an actual "position" was to me.

-i got the v8 hemi. major power, love the "speed" if you will... (last 3 were v8's) but with the 8 speed trans and in "ECO" mode, sometimes it feels like it is really searching for a gear. also, using the paddle shifters to accelerate it interesting because there is 8 gears to choose from! its not obvious what gear to be in as it was in the 2011 (only 5 to chose from!)

also, i have to hand it to the windshield. got hit HARD today with a stone or something, was cursing up and down until i got pulled over to check out a paint scratch or windshield crack, but i swore that took bullet. ha.

don't miss the non flipgate tailgate at all. it actually is less door jams to keep clean and really tightens up the rear hatch.

i really like the rims, but only like them on the white... didn't really like the overland rims on any other color. they are quite dark to me.

LOVE the folding mirrors. LOVE the shark fin antenna.

all in all, i love this truck. best one yet. just thought i would share my observations from the eyes of a very VERY picky but loyal jeep owner. enjoy to all, and best of luck to all new and current 2014 JGC owners....

thanks for all the compliments. very very happy with it....

dealer said "oh man, we will fix the headlights" other then that, nothing.

love the color combo. To be honest, i am a bit upset that i didn't catch the carpet color difference. i might not have done the interior color.

i will have to check the navigation. it gives you three options, i can't remember off the top of my head but i think it is "fastest, shortest and/or most economical" We are a bit spoiled. we have owned an infiniti g37 and the navigation would guide us precisely right, every time. just got 3 months ago a lexus gs350 and that nav is even better. i guess my standards are a bit high. i just figured that with a garmin? (is it garmin?) based navigation i thought it might be a bit better.

my 2011 was an overland as well. loved the air suspension, the piping on the seats, and i swapped out the grill and the rims to the "summit" grill and rims and that made it even better.

like i said earlier, the tranny is still searching for the right gear. in the ECO mode it really searches if you step on it. in the sport mode, its crazy power but its still really searching for the right gear.... just tried pounding the gas today.... would have never thought that 8 gears was too many but... ironically my mpg is better then my 2011. thats a bit of a relief.

It's hunting because its learning his driving style. Almost all modern transmissions do this.

wow. if that's the case i am going to "leave baby in the corner" and start driving like a jackass everywhere. ha.

tan carpet is pissing me off already. had sloppy weather and of course jeep doesn't have the 2014 rubber mats out yet so i got snow slop on my tan carpet because the 2011 mats for the driver side at least don't fit. :slapfight:

(if i am wrong someone please gimme the link for the new mats! i am not a fan of weathertech floor liners although that might be exactly what i need....)

Did the dealer replace your headlights? I have the same issue with moisture build up. Dealer said Chrysler won't change them unless the moisture dosn't go away after a few minutes. They even showed me a Chrysler Bulletin relating to this.
Actually I haven't had the time to take it back to the dealer and quite frankly I forgot about it because it hasn't happened again....

Just hit 5000 miles so I have been spending a lot more time inside the truck then walking around the outside!
