Alright gents, here's what I came up with. Since I still can't find that reverse light connector, I can't make an adapter harness that is 100% plug-n-play. However, I think I am getting closer to finding that connector. I just bought a '98 5.9 Limited on Sunday and (don't ask me how) I noticed that the connector for the underhood light is the same as the reverse light connector for the '07+ jeeps. So it's something that's been in the system for many years.

The cheapest way to get your LED tails closer to plug-n-play is STILL to send them to me. I can usually turn them around the same day. So shipping to me and back from me is really the only time you have to wait.

However, there certainly are circumstances that make this unacceptable. Maybe you sold your stock tails or you can't use them anymore. Bottom line, you can't be without your tails for any length of time longer than a day. Or maybe you live in Canada, so shipping a set of tails to me and then back from me is prohibitively expensive. If you fit this description, then check these out:

They have the '07+ connector on one the end that plugs into your jeep, and the '06 connector on the other end to plug into your LED tails. I can wire it up however you like (top panel only flash, bottom panel only flash) but having both the top and bottom panels flashing together is the most popular.

No, that is not a ground wire coming out of the harness. That is the reverse light positive wire (remember, I can't find the reverse connector). This is what is keeping the harness from being 100% plug-n-play. So, you plug in the harness and then you splice one wire however you want to on each side.

Now, the down side of this harness is it's cost and lead time. Because it uses the '06 connector, it is much more expensive. My source for the '06 connectors charges me almost double what they charge me for the '07+ connector. Also, I don't stock the '06 connector, so I have to order them in as and order is received. This adds about 4-5 days to the whole process.

These are more of a "fill the gap " kinda solution for extenuating circumstances. If you can stand it, I still recommend that you send me your taillights for modification (cheaper/quicker). If you are buying the LED tails new, I recommend you have them shipped directly to me to save on shipping costs.

Ok, so guys, what do you think???

So if I have an 09. Could I but the adapter from you and it's P&P except the reverse light?

Yes. That's what this harness does. But if you send me your taillights, it's the exact same thing. My taillight modding is essentially the '07+ half of the adapter harness. So you don't pay for the '06 half. In the end, it amounts to the exact same amount of effort on your part!

I guess we could do it that way. Usually people just order the lights and have them shipped to me instead of themselves. Then I mod them and ship them to you.

We can certainly work something out if you're interested.

Im out of the loop Lips I already have your harness for the rear fogs with LED bulbs that works as breaks, running and blinker so your saying I can send you a set of 07 tails and you can send them back with working LED lights?? will they fit in the housing area with your other harness?

Well that really isn't what I am saying, but the good news is that is also a true statement.

What I am trying to show in this thread is that I can either make you an adapter or you can send me a set of the aftermarket LED taillights, and I can make them 95% plug-n-play on '07+. All you'll have to do is connect the reverse light wire on each side.

BUT, I've also figured out how to replace your bulbs with LED ones on an '07+ jeep. All it requires is a pair of load resistors and a special bulb, nothing special from me.

moeser sells all the wk connectors.

some are bags of 5 and such. pins are usually seperate.

mopar does sell connector kits too for some plugs....not all.

i have some headlight stuff leftoever but I am not sure if I have any tail light stuff.

what specifically do you need? maybe I have/

oh yeah, one way to get some is a trailer harness. one of the big companies makes one that goes in between the tail light and the plug.

Basically I need to make of these connectors. 3 pin out to 5 pin. Does anyone know if any resistors are needed?

Tail light solutions wants 200 dollars... This can't be that hard. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks
