We are going to line them up in the appropriate setting at a drag strip next weekend. Am I out of my mind to be beeming with confidence? I don't see this being a fair fight.

His car: 2012 Dodge Challenger R/T Stickshift. Only mod is magnaflow mufflers

Mine: 2012 Jeep SRT8 W/bwoody CAI (the ram air, not the short tube)

I see mine taking him 0-60, 1/4, and anything else he could think of. His argument is because he is manual he will wreck me.

From the Car and Driver website:
2012 SRT-8 Standing ¼-mile: 13.4 sec @ 104 mph
2009 R/T Manual Standing ¼-mile: 13.6 sec @ 106 mph
Both cars aren't exactly fast but I think you should closely edge him out in the 1/4. Don't forget that you have AWD, all you have to do is smash the throttle and you're golden, he has to get a decent 60 to keep up. Make sure his tires are stock and go for it.

PM sent on this 1. In my PM i forgot to tell you as the stock tunes are pig rich from the factory you may want to also to get to the track with no more than a 1/8 tank of gas then about 5 miles from the track pour in 2 to 3 gals of 100 octane or unleaded vp109 race gas (which would be better) whick will also lean the stock tune down and with that and what i told you in pm it will be ok. Mine bone stock in the 1/8 mile ran a 8.29 thats a 12.98 1/4 and that was at a low DA OF 687 FT and at 2595 ft with a race gas mix (2 GAL VP109,2 GAL 100, 2 GAL 91) ran 8.34 1/8 mile and 8.30 at 1937 ft. So you see things do come around with those gas mixes on a stock tune as it helps also to keep the stock tune from pulling timing. As you can see on those hot days and hi DA YOU TEND TO NEED A LITTLE HELP LOL.
GOOD LUCK.

People over estimate how good they think they really are at drag racing a manual. If you aren't at the strip racing ALL OF THE TIME, you aren't as good as you think. Add to that, a human can't outshift an electronically controlled transmission.

IMO, you win. Mostly because his 60ft. and shifting aren't going to be any match to your AWD and "smash it and go." ability.

Make sure you get a video of hime getting the Axe.
I was just going to answer the question with "We all do" if you video this and post or link it.

If your SRT can handle braking and gas at the same time, I would be extremely surprised if a 2wd with anything but drag slicks would come out of the hole fast as an auto would.
