Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post. I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for all the helpful information. There's so much great info on this forum and I really enjoy reading all the posts. It helped me get a great deal on a 2014 V6 Overland in billet silver with black interior at one of my local dealers! Ordered it about a week ago, so now I am axiously waiting for it to be built

I'm looking into getting a few accessories for it once it gets here. I just had some questions regarding certain parts. I'm looking at getting some black side step rails. Specifically I am looking at the mopar black rock rails since I saw them on the 2014 trailhawk concept and I thought they really added to it. Does anyone know if these would fit the 2014 JGC. I figured they would since they have them on the trailhawk concept and the platform of the new JGC is pretty much the same as the previous model. Does anyone currently have these rock rails on their Jeep? Do you like them? Any recommendations for other side step rails?

I was also looking into getting the smoke effect on the headlights like the trailhawk concept and SRT. Has anyone done this or have any information on how or where you can get it done? I think it would really add to the looks of the Jeep, especially with the billet silver.

I'm not sure where to post this, but I figured I couldn't go wrong with the main thread Thanks for the help!

As for rock rails, based on the concept Trailhawk, they look the same as ones used for '11-'13 WK2s.

Lots of people have them. As for availability read WXChasers post in the tech tips on availability, he waited around 4 months to get them. I put them on my wife's Overland last May.

I love these rock rails, but then I'm on my third set...on my JKU. The standard Rubicon rock rails looks wimpy, and I replaced them with SRC sliders. Bad choice, they were crushed while driving the Rubicon Trail, partly because they were anchored only front and rear allowing a mid point impact to crush the rail to the body.

The MOPAR rock rails I put on are what are shown on the Trailhawk II and have 4 points to secure them allowing impact pressure to spread along the rail rather than create a focus point and fail.

I love 'em.

Anybody actually has those rock rails installed on a 2014 overland with the offroad package on?
I just got a call from my dealership that they cant install the rock rails because they dont fit !!! lol they said smth about the protection plates and that they cant install without some cutting lol
The thing ii found them on the mopar catalog for the 2014 jeep. Strangely there are not to be found on the mopar site .

The Trailhawk I style rock rails (no rub rail) are listed in the 2014 Grand Cherokee accessories guide as compatible with the Laredo, Limited, amd Overland. So I am guessing they do fit, regardless of what the dealer says. I dont know if the Mopar website has been updated with all of the accessories yet.

I had the same thought as the previous poster, but on the Jeep configuration, I saw QTII vice QDII, and I need QDII for offroad.

The Summit has different fender flares (same as SRT) that interfere with the ends of the rock rails.

Solvable if you put on "flat Bushwackers" for fenders? Or do you have to trim the actual rock rail? In other words, what specifically needs cutting to make these fit on the Summit?
