Hey, the interior of my 2012 GC LTD must Be REAL leather. After 2-3 weeks of snowy weather (no sense going for the full service car wash, right) in Colorado, then a few warm days, the inside smells like a cow barn! Not sure wether to love it or hate it. Anyone else have this smell? Comments?

Haven't had that issue and it's always soggy and wet here.

Mine smelled gross also, but mine was more of a wet dog smell. Everyone I asked, except my son, said it smelled like leather. Without me saying anything my son asked if I had a wet dog in the car? I found that if it got hot and humid in the vehicle that it would smell like that, especially if I had the cover on the sunroof closed.

I took it to the dealer to make sure there wasn't water anywhere in the car, as others on this site suggested might have happened, but they checked 3 places and there wasn't anything.

Now that it's been over a year the smell isn't as bad, thank goodness, but it still comes up periodically. We'll see what it's like in the summer though. So, you're not alone.

I found an old thread about the same problem:

Mine isn't a "damp" or 'wet dog" smell and not coming from vents. Having spent summers on my Grandparents dairy farm in Northern Wisconsin, I know a 'cow barn" smell. It's not manure, just the smell of "warm cattle". Perhaps they smell the same both before and after becoming "leather". HA!
