So my Summit just hit 1400 miles and so far nothing major (fingers crossed) however, intermittently over some rough patches of road there is this mystery squeak. Try as I might I can not pinpoint it. It is definitely coming from the passenger side somewhere. Could be sunroof, seat, door, suspension. I have no idea. It is a faint noise but it is really starting to make me crazy because I know it can be fixed if I can find it. Has anyone else had some mystery squeaks or creaks in the 14? I did check the clips around the pano roof and all were secure.

I have a creak coming from rear passenger side. I'm pretty sure it's the pano roof. I hear it when the body flexes like turning into my driveway or any rough patch on road. Think i read there are a bunch of adjustment points they can do on pano roof. I'm gonna have dealer look at when I go in for oil change.

Can try to have someone drive jeep while you sit in back and search for squeak.

Yep that sounds about exactly like what I am hearing. I need to find a new dealer. My current dealer would say something like "couldn't replicate" or "that's normal". I will ride in the back tomorrow and try to see if the pano is the source.

Yeah try another dealer. I'm gonna take the direct approach and just tell them straight up its the pano roof and I'm sure there are many adjustment points to fine tune it. Gives em less wiggle room to say they couldn't find it etc.

I get the same vibration sound from what I think is the glove box area when I run over some bots dots or similar. My 2012 Overland did the same thing. Must be designed this way from the factory. That is where the extra money goes for a M-B, BMW, Audi. They look for and usually stop these kind of annoyances from day one.

Had something very similar. Found one loose headliner clip, loosened/retightened the passenger side grab handles... Didn't help. I think it was actually the sunroof accordion strip on the passenger side but never nailed it down... Started taking a different route to work over a really bad stretch of road and the squeak/rattle went away.

I think whatever was making contact just wore itself down over the potholes...

I had as similar squeak that was coming from the passenger seat rubbing against the center console ... spacing was off. There was no adjustment possible but the dealer treated the side of the seat with a lot of leather conditioner/softner. Problem solved.

Almost positive it is the pano. Either that or there is a mouse in my jeep.
Nothing like looking for bumps while applying pressure to various parts of the roof.. That black piece across the middle... The headliner on the passenger side... The overhead console... The glass...

Been there done that.

Ok here is the update. Drove around as a passenger in the thing. NOT the pano roof to my surprise. The "Chirp" as I now call it was sounding like it was from the front passenger side. So I pulled out the glove box and rode around some more.
It wasn't until pulling into the driveway that we realized it was a chirp over slow smooth bumps and it was coming from the front passenger side wheel well. Bushing maybe?

Re: Mystery Squeak HELP (FOUND & FIXED)

So after a day at the dealership and one very persistent tech who made it his mission to find the squeak, I am happy to report it has been found and fixed.
Turns out that the sound was coming from the PCM bracket. Apparently a bolt was missing a.k.a not installed at the factory. So over rough roads it was rubbing metal on metal and making the squeak that sounded like it was coming from the glove box area. My ride is quiet once again. (knock on wood)

Chrysler should hire him to train techs across the country ... about dedication.

You are so right. Had the Jeep 2 months. This is the third trip to the dealer. Bad experiences until this one. Gave the guy an awesome survey response by name. Dude needs a raise.

I have had many mistery squeaks on pano roof ,seats, glove box and interior trim.
I purchased myself a 2 ounce bottle of Krytox oil and treated all sunroof and pano roof mouldings and seals with it.All noises gradually went away and have not returned in 6 months.
I also treated the glove box edges with the same successful results, I also treated all the door mouldings and any plastic trim that makes any contact with other materials.
Needless to say,the Jeep is now extremely quiet and absolutely noise free.
I only used about one ounce to do the entire car,a little goes a long way.
I plan on treating the pano roof and sunroof seals again just before winter.
Its worked for me and maybe it can work for you.this stuff is expensive but it works.
Good luck.

I'm having the same issue so I need to let the wife drive it  while I sit in the back and look for it. At least she'll stop complaining about not having driven the JGC yet.

Finally took the JGC to the dealer and left it overnight with a laundry list of things I wanted checked out, one being the creaking sound from the roof.

Well, they had no trouble hearing it. Turns out the technician had heard about this and had one other customer bring his truck in as well. So they're ordering a set of bolts I'm told and once they're in, I'll have to bring it back and leave it for like 2-3 days. I'm told they'll have to drop the interior, to get to everything and basically re-do and tighten the sunroof area. I'll talk to the tech and get more info from him when I drop it off.

I just want:
1) The squeak to stop (gotten louder over time).
2) The interior to look like it was never touched, when completed.

Finally got around to dropping the JGC off at the dealer. They brought down the entire headliner and looked around the pano roof area, as they figured it was there but they couldn't find or resolve it. They opened a Star Case and Chrysler had them check a few things. Turned out with mine, they took it as it was, to their body shop and there are seams that they reinforced with additional welding. How do you like them apples? lol

I'm now listening carefully for the creaks. I hope that's the end of it. :)
