What's up everyone? I currently have a car, but have always had a love for Jeep Grand Cherokees. When shopping for my first car I went with what I could afford, 08 Subaru Legacy. After two years, and a good job I want to purchase my first jeep. I am a sales rep for a tile company in the city so I am in my car all day every day and want a car I can be comfortable in. I'm looking at a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Brilliant Black, black leather fully loaded. Car is awesome. I plan on getting tints, rims, and will look for help on what I should do when I actually get the Jeep.

With that said, I was looking for some advise. The car has 30,089 miles on it its in great condition and they are asking for $36,000 for it. What do you guys recommend with that price, obviously I will haggle, but what do you think I should try for price wise? Thanks for the help in advanced. I look forward to talking to you.

Welcome to JeepGarage!! For that price, you could buy a new 13 Limited. What does KBB or NADA say for this vehicle? There is a few group buys, 1 being in DC that is 7% under invoice that will also work with any 2013 models.

Hey SnoFIre, thanks for getting back to me. I checked the KBB value after I read your response and it's actually UNDER the KBB value. I am going to test drive it tomorrow after work. He wants to appraise my vehicle now and talk price then. I am going to try to talk it down to 32, or 33k if possible. What do you think?

Kohj does have a point. It all depends on what you are happy with. Now does the 2013 Limited have a few more options than the 2014 Limited? Yes it does, that is why they have the Limited with Lux II now. But if you were to get a 2014 Limited, it would be brand new and around the same price. I would say to check out both options and see which one you would rather prefer. Personally I would try for the 2014 if the price around the same as I don't like the 5speed that was in the 12-13 V6 engines.

But hey, it is your choice/money and we are only here to help people.

+1. I paid a little over 37K before tags, tax, title, etc for my '14 Limited with the DC group buy. Might be worth your while to shop around, you could easily get a new '13 for around that or a '14 for a little more money. I prefer my '14 over the '12 I had by leaps and bounds.

If you go for the 2012 used limited shoot for $32k range. I paid just under $30k for my 2011 fully loaded limited about 5 months ago. What they are asking is crazy because u could either buy a new 2013/2014 or get at least 4k off that price. Good luck.

If that's for a V6 2012 limited then it's not a good deal at all.

I paid just over that for a new 2013 v6 limited with Lux 2, 20 inch rims, 720n and tow package.

Seems like a pretty high price. I looked at a 2012 overland in bayside queens that had 20k miles and they wanted 38k

36 seems high. Look at cars.com for a good price gauge

For $36K you can get a new MY13 Limited with less miles...it's just a matter of finding the remaining MY13s

Agreed with all.

Here is a 2013 Limited from Hawk Jeep which is a paid vendor for Jeep garage. Granted it is in Illinois but just to give you an idea.

First of all, thank you to EVERYONE for helping out you guys are awesome. I can't wait till I actually get my Jeep and ask what I should do to it. You guys know your stuff. The link that COLLOSUS76 sent me here is a beautiful Jeep with an INSANE deal. Where do I find one of these deals around where I am?? I am in Putnam County New York. How do you guys find these redic deals? I would LOVE to buy a new Jeep for the same price obviously, but there are not a lot of dealers around here that have those insane prices. Anyone know where I can find a deal like this one ^^^^^^ around MAHOPAC, NEW YORK (45 Miles, Northwest of the City).

Once again THANK YOU ALL for your help and support. You guys are awesome, I honestly cant wait to get the Jeep so you all can help me make it look good.

NO, that's no good at all. It has 30,000 miles on it. You can get a brand NEW 2013 Grand Cherokee Limited for that price.

So you want a black/black Limited 4x4 V6, any options you want? What's your zip code? I (or you) can go to jeep.com, build a 2013 the way you want it, and then do a search within 50 miles of your zip, 100 miles, 200, and 200+. I found 15 2013s in my neighboring states in my exact color combo and options all at the exact same MSRP that I'm watching just so I can consider trading my '12 for a '13 with a different color interior and quadra drive II. If I get really serious about it, all I have to do is go to my local dealer, negotiate and get him to do a dealer trade, and/or contact each dealer myself by e-mail or phone.
