I went with the WalMart Everstart. Good pricing and warranty plus WalMart is everywhere.

Did you mean Duralast from Autozone or Diehard from Advanced?
Changed it. Thanks.
H7 Interstate at Costco showing $185 vs Autozone Diehard H7 showing $250
No brainer to get the Interstate H7 AGM at Costco if that price is correct I’m seeing online, IMO. Might be a sale price as I remember paying more two years ago at Costco.

I have the Duralast Platinum H7 from Autozone. I replaced the stock battery well before it died more for piece of mind than anything else....and I couldn't find an Optima H7 (or possibly at a decent price) at the time. Both batteries have higher specs than stock obviously and good reviews. Optima Yellow Top has a little bit better specs if you need them (CCA and Reserve Time). No issues at all with the Duralast...still better than stock and $100 cheaper than Optima. I have had Optima in the past as well and had positive and neutral experience. My first Red Top was a decision after an Interstate Megatron leaked and stripped the paint/coating off of the battery tray and inside of a fender... I was pissed. The Red Top worked great and lasted a long time. I bought the same for another car and it was in for about a year. I had to remove it when I put the car in storage (military deployment). When I returned I had it tested...tested fine...but died about 6 months later. I believe it was replaced under warranty and didn't have issues when I sold the car. My wife has a Optima in her Mazda going on 4 years now and still tested just fine at recent maintenance check.

When you go on Walmart's site, to look for the battery, it's identical to an East Penn/Duralast. The ones in the store are different. 800CCA vs 850CCA. Bait and switch. So I went with the Duralast battery. I have no idea where or who makes the walmart ones now. Could be chinese for all we know.

I went with the Everlast. Says made in Germany on the battery. 4 year warranty vs 3 years for the others.
$80 cheaper and longer warranty. I guess time will tell. It’s a H6. The H7 was 1.5” or so longer than the original factory battery I took in for the core. H6 was exactly the same dimensions. Date on OEM battery was 07/18. So closing in on 5 years.

FYI - WalMart, cleverly, uses 3 suppliers. East Penn, Exide and Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls). And the Duralast, like the Everstart are 800CCA. WalMart website shows 800.

Are you talking about the OP size of H7 or the previous post with the H6? Autozone shows the H7 Duralast Platinum as 850 CCA and 1000CA. I recall that being the specs when I bought mine as well.

I was just quoting the Duralast Gold and the Everstart Maxx for a comparison of 800cca. FYI - My 2020 V6 came with 650cca.

The factory OEM battery I took in today said 650 CCA. The Everlast H6 says 760 CCA. My Limited with stop/start calls for an H6. I had all 3 batteries on the counter top at WM today. When comparing the H7, H6, and OEM, the H6 was exactly the same as the OEM size wise. Due to the small battery in the under seat compartment, an H7 won't fit. It's 1.5" or so longer and would not allow for the current set up and battery hold down bracket to fit. I read elsewhere you can buy the battery hold down for a diesel engine, use it, and a H7 would fit. I figured an H6 with more CCA than OEM should work for me.

The diesel takes an H8 and pre-start/stop, like mine take H7. I should have been recommending the H6 Interstate AGM as you need space for the 2nd battery.

A little battery type confusion but we got there in the end😁.
So...its H6 for ESS, H7 for non-ESS and H8 for Ecodiesel.
ESS system back-up battery is Group 400. Evidently, common wisdom appears to be replace BOTH batteries.

I would agree but the dealership said big battery was bad and little battery was good. I’m thinking along your lines though, go ahead and replace the small one as well. It has to be cheaper by a significant amount, right?
At least it’s easier to remove the little one. Not that replacing the big one is difficult, just more nuts to remove while laying on my side in an odd position.
