Just picked up my first Jeep today, a brand new 2014 black Cherokee Limited with cream leather trim. Comparing this with my previous vehicle, a Mazda CX9 my initial impressions of the Jeep are very favourable. It feels higher, smoother and the seats are more comfortable. But would you believe it the touch screen packed it in within half hour of ownership, so no radio, stereo, mapping or phone. A bit disappointing after waiting so long. So on the second day of ownership its back to the dealer.

Yep, got the problem fixed but a new unit has been ordered and will be fitted by the dealer in three weeks. I guess being in Australia one can expect that it will take time for parts delivery. Overall, happy with the result so far.
Another issue I have encountered relates to the suitability of the sports roof racks to carry a surf ski. The bars are so close together they are not really suitable for this kind of watercraft which are around 6.5m long. This is a massive sport in Australia and disappointing that a lifestyle vehicle does not have proper capacity for this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fit some sports bars which are spaced further apart? None of the after market suppliers in Australia have been able to offer me a solution.
