Hi everyone,

Just introducing myself to the forum. I currently have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with something like 280,000 miles on it (with a new engine and transmission, long story). Looking to buy a 2014 Overland (or Limited with off-road II and luxury), and debating whether to get the V8 now, or hold out for the diesel. Still haven't made up my mind.

By the way, here is one of the reasons I've decided to buy now.

I was driving down 880 at night, when the car in front of me suddenly slammed on its brakes. I did the same, then the car in front of my veers fast to the right.

Next thing I know, my car goes up in the air a couple feet! I put my flashers on, and everyone behind me stops. I'm thinking I have to pull over because the car won't be drivable. Wrong! My Jeep kept driving straight and smooth :)

I got off at the next exit, checked it out, and it looks like I hit something that was black (from the smudges) and filled with water (there was water everywhere in the driver side wheel wells, front and rear). It broke the fog light and cracked the fender. My washer fluid reservoir was also damaged, and I've got a hose hanging down now, but I don't think it could have produced the volume of water that covered both wheel wells.

Anyways, this was the final straw, I'm tired of putting money into this thing, so I'll hopefully soon be the owner of a new 2014.
