... or lack of noise.

I don't play the radio very loud. I realized today that whenever I hit the button to shut off the Jeep, I always look at the tach to make sure that it's off. I wouldn't have to do this if we still had keys. When I had the key in my hand I knew the car was off.

This would be a non - issue if the Jeep wasn't so quiet and the engine so smooth. :(

Actually :) :) :)

^^^ - Hmmm, how's your hearing? I sure don't have any problems hearing my hemi, even when at idle, with the radio off ... but then mine is a 2013, so there may be differences when it comes to engine noise in the cabin.

I see what Bill is talking about. There is a low resonance a little bit with the HEMI but not everyone hears it. It is super quiet, like amazingly quite at idle (inside).

My radio is always playing, but not very loud. My hearing is excellent, except I can't always determine the direction. I think that's from being too close to too many explosions a good while back.

While the HEMI is quiet once it warms up, I think the biggest factor is the excellent sound insulation. And considering that cabin noise was probably my biggest complaint with my MDX, it is a real nice change.

I can say from a Cadillac SRX (similar to the MDX) the JGC is WAYYYYY quieter!

Honda and Acura have never been known for having quiet interiors when traveling on the highway. Lots of engine, wind and road noise infiltrates the cabin.

From what I've read on this forum the 14's cabin noise or lack there of is an improvement compared to the original WK2's.That being said, the quiet ride was one of the many things that sold me on my Jeep, and it has a Hemi.
I agree Bill- having owned an MDX for a short period of time the Jeep is far superior when it comes to road noise in the cabin.
