I searched the forum for this but couldn't find any info. When I go to the travel link weather map, it geo locates the car just fine and displays the base map but most of the time it displays no weather data. I say most of the time because occasionally (rarely) if I leave it on the map for awhile, weather data eventually shows up. Anyone else having a similar problem?

Takes a little while to download all the data on mine too, but only a minute or two. The last thing to render is usually the radar. Not long enough to be an issue though.

I'd like to add that it would be nice to have a smaller vehicle icon too. The present ones cover a lot of the radar image.

Same issue with my 8.4an, takes 20 minutes to get the radar, not very useful. The 730N in our Durango is instant. Not sure if this is a Sirius issue or Radio. I did call Sirius support, they sent the code to the radio and it then appeared one time. I don't want to call tech support each time to have it update. Anyone find a fix for this?

Those of you who find that the travel link weather map is not working to your satisfaction MUST let your dealer service department know about it. You MUST have them write a work order and get a copy. If they can't fix it to your satisfaction you MUST repeat those steps again. If there is no paper trail generated the problem will never come to the attention of the engineers who can find a fix for you. I know it it's a pain to deal with, but if the wheel don't squeak...you know the rest.

Good point Jacko. I'll make sure to bring this up with my dealer.

I've found if I enter into travel link, say I want the map, and then go back to nav or something else, then back to travel link it will work. It continues to work until the vehicle is stopped and then restarted...

I just tried this several times but it didn't work for me. If I wait 15 minutes or so I eventually get all the data. This is a potentially useful feature that unfortunately is useless to me until this problem is resolved.

Regarding the lack of updates on the weather page, what I found is that the clock does not update when it doesn't work. Which would tell me the Sirius Data load is causing the radio to lock up. Flipping back to radio mode typically unfreezes it. It is really a hit and miss thing on whether it will update or lock up. When it does load the weather data, it is close to instantaneous. I did report to the dealer, they claimed the map worked as it should - of course they think a blank map is working - hey, the map came up - come on people.

Sirius traffic seems to work about the same way hit or miss really buggy sometimes it displays then you go back to it 5 seconds later and blank screen.

Looking at this from another point of view, since the map itself renders immediately when you select weather map in travel link, that lag in data loading might very well be a Sirius/XM issue. I know that I've had music cut out due to signal interruption on this and other vehicles. Maybe this is an issue that can only be resolved through Sirius/XM customer service. Now that's a scarey thought! :(

Agree, icon on weather radar map covers 3 counties and prevents seeing anything within about 20 miles. My wife has been looking for weather radar for many years, finds JGC 2014 map as useless, if it does show after 5 to 20+ minutes, icon covers local area and a momentary vehicle power off/on starts the wait for data all over again. I expected that she would love the built-in weather radar and that it would be enough to pay for the service after 1st year but find it unreliable (too long to display on start up - go back and reselect sometimes shows data if the map doesn't show data after 10+ minute drive) plus no way to minimize icon (certainly not needed as you cannot follow directions from map if icon covers most of the state (RI/MA/CT, not TX/LA). Unless they fix it to be more usable (common sense fixes), it is far from ready for release and should not be advertised as vehicle feature.

Yep, add me to the weather map issue. It takes 10 or 20 minutes (sometimes not at all) for the map to load. I noticed that I can turn on the storms (or warnings - not sure of the term as I am not near my Jeep to check) and it will show me the warning zones but not the actual radar.

I also found that going into something else and then back to the weather sometimes brings up the radar overlay but not usually. I also noticed (as others said) that if the clock in the map does not update then your radar won't either.

I would also like to zoom in more. Not real helpful when you need to see where the edge of a storm is. Pretty important when you live in tornado alley like me!

Psst... quick tip. Look out the window. Ya know, those funny looking clear things... ;)
Or look to see if the folks heading toward you have their wipers on.

The weather map is one of those things I haven't tried yet. I still have a few years though. :)

LOL. Funny. But seriously, we were stuck in between two major storms. We were trying to stay ahead of the one behind us but not drive into the one in front of us and it was completely dark out so looking out the window didnt' help. I sped up and slowed down for about 5 hours staying in between these two storms and manage to miss a tornado hitting the highway about 20 miles in front of us by doing so. The Jeep radar didn't help much and we had to use our cell phones for more accurate data.

ACC worked great in torrential rain, by the way.
