I'll be over at NY auto show on Friday. I'll take some pictures of the new unveiled Cherokee. Should be interesting to see and hear what people think of it.

The new (small) Cherokee is what mceb is talking about. Not the new Grand Cherokee.

Just got back from NYC auto show and seeing the Cherokee in person. Have to say its not as bad in person. The rear looks much better in person, that indent in the back didn't look bad at all. The side definitely has the GC look. The front is still the toughest part but does look a little better in person. I don't like how narrow the front is, looks kind of pointy.

They had a couple of them there. A dark grey one in the main lobby. 2 on the main floor by the Jeep area. One was a Trailhawk edition, a non-metallic light blue/green. The other was Jeep red color.

I'll post pictures I took later.

Hey All:
Some quick snaps of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee on display at the NY Auto Show. 2013 NY Auto Show

It doesn't look as bad in person. Size in the lines of Rav4, CRV and Escape. The Red on display here is NOT as appealing as the dark gray they had on display as you don't see as much black plastic molding.

It is still an ugly vehicle. Ralph Gilles shouldn't have to stand on stage and tell people that you can't go by pictures, and that it looks better in person. How are they going to advertise this thing if videos and pics make it look bad. Nobody had to say anything about the new 300, Charger, Ram or Dart looking better in person. They look good anyway you see them.

Why do all vehicles have to look the same? Until I see one, I'll reserve comment, as I know that photos have significant limitations. By the way, it looks far different in the better photos, such those on car pictures (click for the "larger" images:

Thanks!

I noticed that BMW is also doing the black plastic on their X3.
