Sadly it's law in Ontario - the Jeep inspection dealer rules stipulate if you get a Jeep delivered in a State or Province where front plate is law, they (by law) have to mount it or the dealer can get fined.

Yes, they frigged it up.. but the law frigged it up first. :D

Here in Regina Saskatchewan Canada they realize that requiring the motorist to have front plate on the automobile is very expensive, they they change the law where nobody must have front plate on their automobile, very smart.

Windsor Chrysler has 2 Black 14's in stock right now. Drove one today. Mixed feelings about it. I think I still like mine.....

Lots of them showing up at dealers. Lockwood in Oakville has a black one with the standard wheels.

And, yes, the front plate bracket has been screwed in. And, I have taken delivery of 3 vehicles without front plates in Ontario. Get a fine about once a year. I call it my front fascia beauty tax :)

As a side note, Viper dealers in Ontario used to ask buyers if they wanted a front plate screwed in. Of course, many said No.

The issue is that dealers do PDIs asap after the car comes in as it triggers a payment from Chrysler. Sadly, they do this before understanding buyers wishes. Take a look at import lots (BMW and Mercedes for example). Around these parts, they don't have front plate brackets while sitting on the lot.

Is there any way to put the plate on without screwing it into the bumper?

I think most politician would know it would be far cheaper to get rid of front license plate, but law enforcement such as the police is against it in most States in the USA,and Provinces in Canada.
