Hey all, I've read many posts in this forum as well as the other Jeep forum and still had a question regarding aftermarket wiring.

Disclaimer, I am a complete electronics/audio noob with zero experience.

I have a 2012 JGC Laredo (4 speaker, 2 tweeter) no sub (that I can tell).

I bought the Pioneer 5500bhs headunit, with PAC RP4-CH11 adapter from Crutchfield (as well as the mounting kit and antenna adapter).

Now my headunit was scratched, so I had to ship back, so most questions will come in a couple of days, but the one question I was hoping someone could help me with is, which PAC converter/plug do I need? I received two with the shipment. One is marked ....CHY11-A and the other ends in CHY11-B. Does anyone know which of these will be used? I'm assuming it is only one or the other. I was going to remove the OEM stereo tonight to check out which plug would fit, but was hoping someone may already know.

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense. I uploaded a pic to show the two plugs/wiring.

Rage - your posts/explanations are what helped me make this purchase. You make it sound way too easy :) (I did get a dremel as well).

Cool! I'm more than happy to help! :)

You only use one. Hmmmm don't remember which one I used. I'd have to go out to the shed and check which harness I have left over.

Can I get back to you tomorrow evening?

Absolutely!! Thanks a bunch.

I've attached another pic with a close-up of each plug. It looks like the wires are all the same, same order, it's just the shape of the opening is different (I think). In the attached pic, the plug on the left is the "CHY11-A" plug - it is basically perfectly square. The one on the right is the "CHY11-B" plug and is 'cornered off' at the top.

Thanks again. I'm sure I'll have some more questions over the next few days.

thanks so much! i actually just went through your thread and could make out the "CHY11-B", or the dark grey one. I assume that would be the same on mine even though I have a 2012 and yours is the 2011? All WK2 should be the same?

Yes all 2011-2013 WK2s are the same.
So I got all the wiring hooked up last night, sitting in my place. Wanted to do it tonight but it's 100 degrees here in Chicago. Probably try tomorrow.

I haven't tried to take the center bezel off yet. I know from a few of your posts you recommended the trim stick, but would it work if i just take a long flat head screw driver and wrap it in electrical tape?

Let me know your thoughts on that! After that, it's just dremeling and figuring out where to put the bluetooth mic and where to run the USB.

I still highly recommend the trim stick, less chance of damaging something. You can try the screwdriver with tape, but I wouldn't do it.

You can try pulling the trim off by opening the little storage store at the bottom and prying with your hands.
