today is day 3 that i've had my summit and for the most part really like it, full review coming at 500 mile mark. the passive entry is really nice, however today, i used the passive entry to open the liftgate, which worked, but when i tried to use it to lock it back up, nothing. i tried both front doors and nothing. i then started the vehicle up, shut it off and tried the passive locking or unlocking and nothing. any suggestion?

Thinking about it, I believe that feature can be turned off in the EVIC. Some of us have had settings change on their own. Make sure you have yours enabled.

Checked that and it was still turned on. Still doesn't work It's crazy how it worked 1 minute and not the next

I had as issue when I first got mine where the passive entry was not working and I found that if I had my key and iphone close together like in the same pocket it didn't work. I have kept them apart since and have not had another problem.

I have my key fob hanging on my belt and my phone is in my work car, so that shouldn't be a problem.

One thing I learned in the last 3 months; just because it doesn't work today, doesn't mean it won't work tomorrow. So, don't tear anything apart for a day or two.

+1 this on Bill's note. My Durango was freakish on how the passive entry and button locked for the first few days, then all the sudden it worked perfectly ever since. There is also the two Fobs thing we have talked about a few times. Make sure your second fob isn't near an open door when locking. Car might think it is inside, had this happen on the RAM once this weekend, I opened and closed the door once that seemed to put it back in sync.

Failing that ask Bill if you can borrow one of his Gremlins I can attest to the high quality of their Jeep modifications ;).... You may need some of his Gremlin food too.

Will it unlock using the passice entry and just not lock or do you have to use the buttons on fob for everything

It will not unlock or lock via the door handle. Have to use the key fob, and the other fob is 12 miles away, so I know that's not the problem. Definitely some gremlins here, it also won't start the ac and fan when I use remote start. Dealer knows nothing about this, but another member posted somewhere how there's a fix for that in quarter 3. Frustrating but could be worse

One other thing that worked for someone with a different issue.

Uncheck the feature with the car running. Turn off the car, open and close the drivers door. After all the interior light go out, indicating that everything is shut down, restart the car and recheck the feature. Shut the car off, get out and give it a try.

The sensor for the passive entry is in the trunk. Mine was loose and I was able to fix myself. Have to remenber where it is. Give me a few.

This would make sense, I got stuff out if the trunk and then it didn't work.
