Under the steering wheel. I reversed the detachable clip for the holster and slid it over the plastic at the bottom. I then attached the soft holster. Fits firm and flush.

Thats a slick set up if you don't want to carry on your person.
Would be ideal for me as i sometimes cross State lines into a car hijacking State that is also anti-2nd Amendment.

I have full carry permit and tried something such as this. It worked great, the only issue was too many times I went into a store or in the house and forgot to take it with me. Shoulder holster is my preference.

I also have a Kydex holster on me but my weapon is very readily to hand in the cup holder.
Just slip it out of there and onto my hip when I get out of the vehicle.
The big plus is that SWMBO can get at it as well😉.
We both are licensed and trained.

My other half and I spend a lot of quality time together at the range .
unfortunately I live in the Nazi state of New Jersey, where only criminals carry guns, so unless I’m going to or coming from the gun range I’m not allowed to keep a pistol in my car.

Have the exact same problem here in the California.......so whenever I cross the state line, typically into Arizona, one of the first things I do at the rest area is to get the pistol out of the lock box in the back, get it loaded, and into the center console. And, several times, I've noticed others doing the same thing....become a bit of a tradition!! While traveling in our motorhome, the pistol is in a drawer within easy reach while we're driving, or in the nightstand when we're sleeping.

Well, as of last year you actually can get a CCW in NJ because the ban was ruled unconstitutional, but our Governor has now made the rules so strict and blurry no one really knows where you can carry without being outside the law.
The big joke is you can legally carry on your own property, but stay 10 feet away from the property line.....and thats not far from the truth
He also added a whole bunch of fees and hoops to make it very expensive and time consuming .
His new restrictions will also be struck down as unconstitutional, but who knows what's after that.

So, we've been looking at homes in the Western NC area for a few months and If all goes well, well be there within a year.

On the plus side, best case scenario, we sell this house for its current appraisal and pay cash for an equal sized house with a larger property in the area we are looking.... worst case the market drops significantly we end up with a 100K mortgage.
Either way, I'll be in a 2A friendly state that respects its law abiding citizens .

Not extremism at all. Strict restrictions on gun ownership are in every Marxist playbook. There's just no respect for the constitution in some of these states.... mine included.

Tallguy, not sure where you live now, but if you're ever in Minnesota I'd love to take you to the range. But suffice it to say, those of us who carry guns have sufficient training to do so safely.

Just a month ago ago some crazy road rager followed a guy into Walmart, and pulled a knife, and threatened to kill him. The victim pulled his pistol and shot the guy in self defense. Without the pistol, the guy probably would have been stabbed to death. So no, having a pistol with you isn't a nightmare at all.

The pistol holster has a strap to keep the gun in the holster and there's a trigger guard so you cant accidentally fire the weapon. There's never any kids in the vehicle. So I don't have to worry about that.
