My black carpet is a dirt magnet it seems. I have a shop vac but it takes a minute to get out and plug in so I don't use it often agonizing over those 60 seconds. I found a great little lithium battery hand held vac I mounted to the garage wall with L brackets & 3M double sided tape. It's so convenient I use it almost every day. Suction of course can't hold a candle to the shop vac but it does a great job for loose dirt and crumbs.

Thanks for the tip. I've been wondering about the black floor. Both my current cars have a beige floor which is good for not showing loose dirt and crumbs, BUT bad for showing stains and carpet wear. I think the black carpet will ultimately wear better, but will take a bit more maintenance for a clean appearance.

I have the same situation....shop vac is in the basement and will take some time to get out...will prefer a decent car vac in easy reach.

There you go again....it is like you are either reading my mind, or having my problems AND solving them before I know what's up. We have only had two adults and no pets (just their hair that I wear, unfortunately) in our Durango, but the carpet already could use a good vacuuming. I can see the shop vac barricaded by other fun garage junk, but something this size would be convenient indeed, and conducive to using often. I'm going to start owing you a referral fee for your good suggestions :)
