Alright gentlemen, here's another option for you '07 and newer guys who want to run the LED (or euro) taillights.

You see, here's the situation. As most people know, the LED taillights come with the '05-'06 plug on them. This makes your day particularly frustrating if you have an '07 or newer Jeep. You want the cool look, but most people aren't too keen on hacking into the wiring on their $45,000 Jeep. Here's another option...

For most, I recommend you send me your taillights so that I can do the conversion. Why? It's cheaper and the end product is superior. You have less plugs and less wire stuffed behind the taillight. Here's the link to the page that contains info on the conversion: http://www.jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=6609

However, there are cases when an adapter would be more suitable for you. The main one is to save on shipping. If you are an international customer and you already have the lights in your possession, it might cost you a pretty penny to send the lights to me and then have me send them back to you. It will also take a while (USPS lists 6-10 business days one way to Canada, for example). There are a couple other situations where the adapter may be better suited to you.

Another one is if you want to use the "euro-spec" taillights. The wiring can't be modified on these because they use the "circuit-board" type wiring arrangement. In these cases, you are forced to use the molded connector on the circuit board. In these cases, this adapter really is your only option.

Bear in mind, the function of the euro-spec or LED taillights on an '07+ Jeep will be somewhat different than how they were originally intended to function on an '05 or '06 Jeep. Basically, the '07+ Jeeps "combine" the brake light and turn signal functions into the same wire/bulb (this is called a "2-wire" taillight system), whereas they are separate on '05-'06 Jeeps ("3-wire" taillight system). Usually, this is not a problem. You have some options on what we can do with this, but the most common thing is to have both bulbs act as brakes/turns. On LED tails, this means the entire panel will function as one. On euro-spec tails, this would mean the top and middle bulbs would function identically. Again, you have some options here. Feel free to contact me with requests/ideas and I'll see what I can do.

This all may seem very confusing - trust me, it's not. If you still have questions, feel free to post them here, PM me, or contact me directly at [email protected]. I'm always willing to help you guys out and I promise that I will bend over backwards to make you happy. Without further adieu, here are some pictures. Note, I covered these in a new sleeving nicknamed "snake skin". It seems to be very high-quality. I can provide the older convoluted tubing if you'd prefer them this way, but this stuff makes for a more compact and flexible adapter (plus I think snake skin looks cooler, too). Enjoy!!!

@08Hemi

If you are ordering the tails brand new, just have them shipped to me. It's cheaper, faster, and easier this way. I will PM you my shipping address.

As far as the smoked lights, I have "tinted" LED tails from Daniel on my '98 Grand Cherokee. I also have LED lights on my SRT, but they aren't tinted (regular red lens). They look great. As far as smoked lights are concerned, I think you'd be better off buying clear lights and then having them tinted by someone. The quality is just so much better. Not to mention the fact that I can guarantee you that those lights aren't tinted anywhere near as dark as the picture looks. They have to make sure they are DOT legal so the tint is not really that dark.

If you don't want your rig to look ricer, I would recommend getting the clear or red lens LED tails and having them tinted. One other advantage to going this route is that you can have the reverse light section of the light left untinted.

It's your Jeep, bro = your call. Just giving you my $0.02 because I have bought 3 pairs of tails for my '98 trying to get the look right - I don't want you to have to spend that much money.

Ya, if you want the dark look, definitely get them tinted. I'm thinking you know that when I say tint, most shops don't actually apply tint, right? They actually paint them with gloss black/clear mixed together. The LED tails for the WK are VERY bright, so you can still get good light output with a relatively dark tint. Then you can keep the untinted reverse area to maximize light output. The next step is reverse HID's, lol. I did them, they turned out really well. There's a thread floating around somewhere that's got pictures on it.

Been there, done that. They won't do anything without me presenting them a valid patent number or a copy of a court injunction. Really, it's not that big of a deal. I stick around and continue to make these products for YOU GUYS! It was never about money for me. The money is just to keep enough incentive there to keep making them. Ken can knock himself out selling that stuff on eBay. I can assure you that he can never offer the level of customer service that I can because he doesn't know EVERY BLOODY DETAIL of the products he's selling. I did the research and development on these products so I can tell you anything you'd ever want to know about them.

Really, I appreciate you guys looking out for me. It means a lot to me. This is the exact reason why I stick around - to help out the guys that I know will help me out.

Rob is right. If you mean convert them to work with the '07+ jeeps, then you lucky dawg have linked taillights that require NO conversion. The only thing I will say about those lights is that they look like they have fewer LED's, so I would guess that they aren't as bright.

However, if you are saying you want a harness to activate your rear fogs on an SRT8 or export Jeep, then that's a different matter.
