I have an 05 jeep grand cherokee with the 5.7l hemi, and mine makes 330 hp, where as I see the dodge ram 1500 with the same engine makes 390 hp. What gives, why do I make 60 ponies less? Shouldnt it be the essentially the same engine?

thats the 09+ ram hemi right? or 11+ ram hemi? I know the 11+ hemi has a different intake from the jeeps. HP was upped in 2008 or 9 on all hemis on the jeeps to like 360 hp.

Yea, I was looking at the 11+, so what did they do with the intake? Also what did they do back in 08?

The Hemi got variable valve timing too.

It's also part in the tuning. You should also look at the gearing. The truck is probably going to have more of a highway gear while the jeep will have a higher gear for off roading. That alone can cause less ponies.

the intake mani in the Ram is larger. The same intake couldnt be used on the Jeep GC because of hood clearance.
