I sold my 2012 and was waiting for the 2014, its here and i have a pretty good deal from the dealer. Came in at (without tax) $65418 with pano, cd, HP audio, black chrome wheels, and tow. I was waiting for the blue ray but i may just forgo that.

I know that the 2016 is slated for a refresh but is anything substantial going to change from 2014 to 2015 or will it be similar to what happened with 2012-2013 (basically not much)? I plan to keep the 2014 if I should buy for at least 2 years. What would you all do?

They also said they would throw in a bumper to bumper protection plan for $899 for 5 years.

Im just not 100% if I should buy the 2014. I am really hoping that the quality issues are taken care of (plastic side flares coming off, bumper and panel alignment, etc..) some of those quality issues came with my 2012 so if i pay $70K for the 2014 I am hoping that the quality is going to be a little better this time around!

when the hell is the blue ray coming out? And is there any word on a late year special edition yet? The vapor and alpines were amazing! I cant believe that theres no SE JGC yet for 2014...

My 14 was built in June and I have no panel or fitment issues what so ever. I think those were early build problems that have since been solved.

I have a squeaky sunroof and a noisy steering wheel (during easy exit mode) that I need serviced, no other issues though.

well, if that's what you want then wait.

392CI is a pretty historic number though maybe that only matters to those of us of a certain age. In the end, I opted out of a '14 SRT and got a '14 Overland, because it's my daily driver.. and the limitations of the SRT didn't fit with what I needed.

But back on topic:

supercharged vs naturally-aspirated behave differently.

but most of all, if you are the sort that is always envious of what someone else has - then wait. You won't be happy anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Otherwise: buy it, drive it, and enjoy it.

First off, I ordered a 2014, White SRT last week. I got a great deal and a great trade in price agreed to three months off. The gas mileage on my V8 Overland was so bad I decided, so what if it's a little worse. Plus the SRT is a nice ride. If you are waiting for a 2015, it is a loooong way off. The order banks for 2014 SRT's as per posted information close July 2014. That is a long way off! Buy it, drive it, and enjoy it! Who knows what life's speed bumps may offer up.

How long will you be waiting? Go for the my14, I have had my Srt for two months now and could not be happier. You hear all these problems people are having but I think they are few and are far between considering build numbers. All my panels fit perfectly, interior fit out perfect, unconnect perfect, no glitches, gearbox smooth as silk, so on so on....... I, like you we're a bit concerned initially,but let me tell you, these are sweet rides that won't disappoint, besides most manufactures have glitches here and there and what's to say the my15 whenever it comes out wont, I guess it's luck of the draw with any manufacturer whether you end up with a trouble free vehicle.

No major changes planned for the 2015 and 2016 model years. 2017MY will be the all-new 5th generation Grand Cherokee, which is now in the initial design stages.

SAme here! Traded in my 2013 Laredo for a 2012 SRT and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Literally makes me smile like a kid in a candy everytime i hit the gas. You will be shocked at the looks you get driving an SRT.

Additionally those new HID headlights still haven't grown on me. I think I'd go rape the dealer and pick of a 2013 for dirt cheap then wait it out.

I'm not 100% sure but... I think Milous said the Hellcat was coming to the Challenger first in 2015, meaning it won't come to the JGC until at least 2016. However, 2016 is the last model year of the WK2, so it would make sense for Jeep to just wait until the 2017 model year to drop the Hellcat into the GC. Can anyone (Milous or Scott, but really Milous :lol confirm?

I know people in the know say there aren't any changes coming .... but there's always going to be tech refresh and fascia updates. As for the hellcat... I honestly don't care when it gets released .... just as long as it happens and that it looks good when it does.

Back to the OP's question... If you are okay with the looks I'm sure you would be happy with a 2014 as everyone seems to love them.

I'm thinking SRT now as I still have a bit of time up my sleeve. '14 is the one to have although the pre-13's headlights are mean looking compared to the '14 IMO. The 8-speed though. Hard to pass that up. But finding replacement tires...is another story.

Also, are you thinking of waiting for the Blu Ray Player? Just wondering because it'll probably be more practical to buy two Ipads with headrest mounting kits with headphones and just burn movies movies onto them using AVPlayer HD. That way everybody can enjoy their own thing. Kids with the cartoons, you with the sound of the Hemi. Wife... I dunno... the vibration of the Hemi?

I believe you can't order a '15 till next summer, and then to wait for it to be delivered must be in the late Sept./Oct. range

I'll would just order a '14 because it's not much they can improve on pretty much.. it's a very very awesome package from factory
