I'm waiting on delivery of a 2014 and I was wondering how other people are organizing their SD cards for the 2014s?

What works best?

Everything in one big folder?

Genres > Artist > Album > Song?

Artist > song?

How do you guys sort your music on the SD card, pros and cons?

As I ripped my CDs, Media Player created a folder for each artist. Within that folder is a sub-folder for each album, then the individual songs.

The system in the Jeep will allow you to sort by Artist, Genre, etc.

I find it works very well.

I think the player will group the songs by artist automatically regardless of any folder they are located in, so that one is done for you. I group all of my songs into playlist folders so that they will be displayed by that "playlist" (folder) and I can select the playlist depending on my mood.

On mine if I select shuffle it shuffles through the whole SD card, not the folder I have selected. I think I read somewhere that was fixed on a later software patch, and allows shuffle on a selected folder.

I know it will shuffle within a browse category. I usually browse within a genre.

Early on I could only do that if I selected the genre in the evic, and shuffle using a voice command.
