Is there a way to make the female end of the seat belt buckle actually take the buckle without pushing the button?

Doesn't it just push in? Mine does if I remember. I don't think about it every time I buckle up. I'm not near it at moment to check.

No I have to push the button in for it to take the buckle. Which in turns doesn't shut the chime off.

Depending on the year it might be covered under a safety claim, otherwise maybe try spray a little WD40 into the mechanism? I just checked, mine just push right in with no issues.

I've tried WD-40, nothing. I think my only option is buy a new one and install it. I wish I knew what fuse the chime was on.

I disabled my chime so it is quiet when I don't buckle after picking up the mail. This worked:

To remove seatbelt chime...
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and fasten the drivers seatbelt.
2. Start engine, and wait for Seat Belt warning light to turn OFF.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting engine, unbuckle and then re-buckle driver's seat belt at least 3 times, ending with belt buckled.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that your life is in your own hands.

You can go through the steps again to turn it back on.

The problem with that is it won't work if I have to push the button to install the buckle so the disabling doesn't work.

I didn't suggest that because as he mentioned he's having an issue with it connecting properly and the chime staying on. Time to smack it with a hammer first before pulling and replace. It can't hurt haha
