Coming home from Florida Saturday I was running hard with an Audi 3.0 SUV and the engine message came on to service the 4 wheel drive system. Oh Fudge!!:( I drove the 80 mi the rest of the way home and when I got a chance Googled the problem. It seems several folks over the years have had this problem and???? it can be rather significant. I was hoping not to have to go to the dealer for the problem. I saw there was a TSB to deal with the problem on the 2015 yr. They just do a reflash to raise the temp settings and the problem goes away. I don't want to go to the dealer if I can avoid it.:( I was hoping that the problem would correct itself this morning when I went to start it. Wow, it did and the car is performing as usual..:D

Is there anyone else out there that has had this problem??

It could be your transfer case needs some fluid. How many miles are on your JGC? The fluid itself may need to be changed.

I was thinking of checking all the fluids with the exception of the transmission. I will change that at 40K mi.

There are several things that can trip this warning. On my Commander I got this message and it was a faulty/sticky brake position switch. This is a super cheap part but you have to stand on your head and do weird contortions to change it. Other Commander owners had things like bad ABS sensors or transmission / transfer components throw the same message so it is a pretty generic one.

I saw where this code on the earlier WK's was caused by some expensive problems. The WK2 supposedly is different. The first thing will be to check all the fluid levels and make sure nothing was short on any of the fills.
