I have a 18’ Grand Cherokee high altitude 3.6. Recently started shaking only while idling. It is most noticeable when the vehicle reaches its warm temperature, while driving you don’t feel it but at a stop sign or red light you can feel the vibration and actually see the passenger seat vibrating. Any idea what can be causing this problem?

What if you shift to neutral when stopped and idling? Does it still shake?

Yes In neutral it does continue to shake
I guess that eliminate the transmission as a cause.

When you say "shaking", is it just vibration a in rough idle? Maybe someone needs to check if the engine as a whole is shaking or is it something internal that's being transferred to the body.

I still think it is motor mounts. Try this. Hood open, engine running, transmission in gear, foot in brake, give it gas. Ask someone to see if the engine moves when gas is given. Can't think of anything else.

We did this in the dealership they said change the mounts changed both after removing them both my mounts were still good not leaking yet. Still went with the new mounts and the shaking still remains. It’s very small but it is noticeable and like I said you can see the seats vibrating and feel it on the door and steering wheel.

put 4 cans of techron in it then do a lot of short trips. If it's injectors that may clean them up. I'm surprised the dealer didn't try and sell you on a $200 injector cleaner, that's another option which might be worth a try since most other things have been ruled out. Also cleaning the throttle body might be worth a try.

Okay..i have to ask this.. are the seat bolts loose? My thought behind this is if the battery was ever replaced, maybe it wasn't tightened or it worked itself loose?

I have the same issue. Started noticing it last month. Didn’t do anything until last week only because my motor mount was linking. They thought that was the issue but I still notice it shaking. I did find this site.

Might have the dealer look into it and see if they agree with anything on here.

I have a 2016 Summit with 3.6L with 84k miles. Had same problem but mine threw fault codes. Misfiring on No. 2 cylinder. They said lifter was stuck and was worn. They had to replace lifter. Fortunately was covered under Certified powertrain warranty.
