I almost forgot about this thread. Last weekend I went camping with some fellow Marines in the Nevada high desert. We also did a little target shooting. Mine is the white JGC CRD. I caught the sunrise on our last morning. In Yerington NV they were having a parade on Saturday.

... and the rest. The blurry group shot is from a 360 panorama that I took; the full panorama is here — http://360.io/GqwCHG. It was windy atop that ridge and there was some movement, hence the blur.

The sunrise over my JGC CRD is in this group.

I see these pictures and I get nervous haha! Dent, scratches and rock chips come to mind
I just knew that was part of the deal. If I’d gotten a JL it would be the same thing. I picked up a few scratches on our CO trip in July. Scars are cool, right?, LOL.

Hell yeah!

That's the way to do it!

Love's me a Unimog, too...

Bob
The Unimog was the first thing Imsaw. I love those things! It’s always a good trip when you get to do some shooting!

I’ll be the soccer mom cheering from the sideline. You go champ!
I only got the GC because it’s the best looking SUV that isn’t German.

Did part of the Rocky Gap Trail a couple weeks back. Not sure if it was a smart ideal on the 20" rims, but it survived.

I like it! I took mine wheeling when it had 20s. You have to be a little more careful on 20s but it’s definitely doable. These pictures are on 20s, before I decided to drop down to the Black Rhino 18s.

The last one in the mud, that was a challenging day. That was a slippery hill (at Hollister Hills), and merely standing on the snot-slick mud was tricky.

The first one is also at Hollister Hills. My daughter and I just did that black diamond trail. The JGC does pretty well on the trail for such a nice rig.

I'm 100% in favor of getting together and running that trail with you. Thanks for the suggestion.
Count me in guys, maybe we need to start a thread for California folks? I'm in Los Angeles near Topanga Canyon... would love to get out there on the trails with other folks. I'm always going solo and worrying about getting stuck out there :censored:

I'm 100% in favor of that. I was talking to my wife this morning about why I have bought all that recovery equipment and only gone off road once (how much safer it is going with others). I'm a retired firefighter so I'm able to go almost anytime. I have been giving some thought to checking out the area near Lone Pine around the 26th of this month. Love to have some company if that time period works for any of you.

We, more than likely, have a movie shoot on the 26th, but 27, 28, 29 (weekend) sounds great!

Let's get a thread going and a head count.

We'll probably stay at Old Dow Villa. Love that place!

I sincerely miss California for the ability to go offroad without having to register with an ORV park. Whatever other issues Cali may have, at least you can still get lost in the desert for a couple days if you want to!

Nice pics, thanks for sharing....but let me tell you that your Jeep is way toooo clean !!..hahaha
Yeah... that was literally 1 week after we got the Jeep. I'll tell you, it's a difficult color to make "look dirty", in pictures :)

We are going to try, again, this coming weekend, in the same location (Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, California)!

Watch for more pix and details. Heck... come join us!
