I think the side mirrors that have the puddle/courtesy lights that light up when unlocking the vehicle only comes on the Overland and Summit models.

They used to always work but I noticed today that they are not coming on anymore. Night or day doesn't make any difference. I don't think I changed any settings. Anyone else have the same problem?

Thanks. Guess I was just venting. I've calmed down today. Compared to some who have the 8.4 locking up and pano roof leaking, the problems with mine are minor. But I guess a trip to the dealer is coming up.

Interesting. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen my puddle lights come on recently, although I haven't really payed attention either. I remember seeing them after I took delivery. I'll have to go check it out later. I have a '14 Overland.

I was out last night in the dark and sure enough they came on. First time I've really paid attention to them and, man, they illuminate well! The whole ground underneath gets lit up. iPhone 5 pics show them in action a little bit here:

Last night and today, they are now working. Go figure. Gremlins, I guess. Though it doesn't give me much faith in the vehicle. Now all I need the gremlins to do is make my liftgate open with 2X on the fob.

Anybody know if the puddle lights only come on if it is dark? I noticed mine are not working today. I had done the battery cable disconnect for the transmission rough shifting fix a couple days ago.

I have discovered that the puddle lights only come on when the door is unlocked by pressing the unlock button on the key fob.

When mine is parked, but unlocked, and keyfob left upstairs, as soon as I touch the door handle, the puddle lights come on. Day or night doesn't matter.

you know that I was looking in the fuse box. (man there's a bunch of them) but only about half of them were actually pushed in ALL the way. I was pressing each one of them down and many you could feel snap into place. Wonder of it could be causing all the intermittent issues we seem to have?

I take that back. They aren't working again using key fob to unlock or door handle.

Update. It appears the lights do not work if the mirrors are folded. Can anybody confirm?

I checked my fuses. Quite a few clicked with just a slight push. Especially all the 30 amp ones that are pink.

The puddle lamps are off if the power folding mirrors are folded in.

After reading this thread yesterday I realized my puddle lights weren't working at all. I tried unlocking with the key fob, nothing. That didn't make sense to me anyway, because if you had to unlock with the fob, you wouldn't get any light exiting the car.

I have only folded my mirrors a couple of times, but figured maybe it had something to do with the lights. So I just went out to the Jeep, folded the mirrors in and back out. When I opened the door to get out of the Jeep, they came on.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Anybody know why the puddle lights do not work when the mirrors are folded? I usually fold the mirrors since they stick out so far. If you a parked along a street folding the mirrors seems like a good idea but it is also nice to have the puddle lights.

Actually they DO behave the same. The puddle lights illuminate whether the mirrors are folded in or not on my U.S. 2015 Overland.
