Ok, im a lil tweaked about this, maybe some of you audiophiles and jeep engineers can offer some insight.

I've got a 2011 Overland with the 430N, and when I'm playing my iPod through the center console USB at a moderate volume level (maybe 26-29) after awhile i hear this really harsh crackling and popping coming from the dash area.

When i reduce the volume significantly, the crackling remains, which indicates to me that this is not distortion caused by playing it too loud.

It seems to be only in the higher frequency range and coming from the two dash mounted tweeters.

Is it the tweeters breaking in? An amplifier issue? Or what? Its really strange. Any help would be really appreciated.

Sounds like a lose connection or BAD tweeter not one breaking in. Does it make the noise regardless of if vehicle is in motion or running or just on accessory? One way to tell off loose connection if the vibration of running engine or movement makes it worse.

But since others are noticing it may be poorly shielded cables to or from amp which may be picking up interference from veh alternator or other source in the electrical system. Sometime PIA to diagnose these because it can be as simple as a speaker wire running too close to another wire carrying power somewhere on the vehicle.
