Sounds like a successful day in my book! Happy Anniversary to you and your Mrs -- we will have to work on getting everyone together for another trail meetup soon. I'm in Calabasas so happy to travel to Pismo, Joshua Tree / PS, Eastern Sierras, Anza Borrego, etc--- we are fortunate to live in an area with so many fun options for these great machines.
Fantastic!! Glad to have another WK2 to run with.

Hwy 78!

What didn't get shot was our trek off Palo Verde Wash, down Cut Across Trail, to Ocotillo Wells Vehicle Park. We were headed to the Pumpkin Patch rock formation, when we decided we would lose daylight. This was an ALL DAY, 50 mile trails trip, in Anza Borrego Park, so we turned back and winged it until we found the 78.

What an adventure!

The photo below is Red Rock Canyon State Park and my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk - the Jeep SUV is in the photo to show the height of the cliff (that's me standing behind the Jeep).

Last week Donna and I took over 100 pictures in California's Eastern Sierra Mountains. This one was taken in the Alabama Hills area near Lone Pine. It might be my favorite out of the hundred photos we took.

MD took this photo through a dirty GC Trailhawk windshield. I didn't think it would turn out very good (I was wrong - just my opinion).

S.W.R.T.=Sometimes We Run Trails

Had some patches made up, for those who join us.

The first 10 are free.

1 per WK2.

You have to meetup and run :)

Should have them in hand, in 2 weeks.

Let's plan some Springtime trips...

Oh wow! I was at Anza Borrego with some friends (Non-Jeepers) that same weekend. We hit up a few spots including Fonts Point and The Slot.
LOL.

That was prolly you guys who turned us around, right before the Slot. We didn't know it was one way and were headed up the canyon.

It was our first time, in that area, and we were having a great time exploring!

I have a Garmin Overlander on order and we'll be headed out there, soon... with better data.

Next time, we're headed to the Pumpkin Patch. We almost made it, but decided to turn back, before we ran out if daylight.

It was our first time too. I have back country navigator installed on my tablet for off-road navigation. I've been very happy with it. However, the free maps do not tell you if a paticular trail is easy or you need a rock crawler.

So... you preload the maps and when cell drops, you still have guidance?

Imma have to look into that.
