Hi Guys, I have had an ongoing issue with my '99 wj. On this specific problem, I've gone through 3 shops and 1200 dollars, with no resolve. First and 3 shop said it was the bearings, so both front bearings have been replaced twice and rear passenger bearing, once. 2nd shop actually had temporary solution, which leads me to believe, they are right, but a permanent solution needs to be found. They said there was some warping in the back passenger rotor, a groove, so they resurfaced it, it went noise free for 2 days, then started back on day 3. So, is the teves vs akebono issue haunting me or is there another issue with the rotor/caliper? The back rotors and pads are about 6 months old.

At the rear there is no akebono conversion available what I know of. When the pads where replaced lately, they can be the problem. Now I'm not sure if the rear pads have anti squeel clips like the front akebono has.
Since they changed front bearings and a rear bearing, I presume that the exact place from the noise is not known. Does it always.makes the noise, or only when braking?

Yes, it's always. Before they resurfaced the rotors, it was more prominent when on narrow streets with houses on each side. Now it's prominent even without buildings to bounce off of. I'm sure the cause is somewhere in the brake/rotors, because there was temporary silence after resurfacing, now just hoping for a permanent answer. It's going back tomorrow, sadly.

I recently tracked down a squeek my 02 Overland had and it turned out to be a front wheel hub bearing. Unfortuantely you said those were already replaced.
Is there anyway at all that you can kind of control the sqwueek or atleast make it change sound a little? What happens when you hit the brakes? If it went away for a few days after a shop messed with the rear brakes then it sounds to me like you already have the main focus point. I would keep working on those rear brakes. Could one of the calipers pins be stuck not allowing it to come off the rotor enough?
