Would the SRT 3.70 ratio ring and pinion fit into a stock V8 WK2 overland rear and front differential?
It isnt even close to a dana 60, its a metric gearset.Dont think so. I believe the SRT rear diff is the same size as a Dana 60. Either JP or 4 Wheeler had an article about this in last 6mos. So it wouldnt fit in the housing.
You might want to double check on that. As I said either JP or 4 Wheeler had a recent article on this. I dont think the larger ring gear will fit in the case of either the rear or front diff of a GC. Dana 60 has 9 3/4" ring.It isnt even close to a dana 60, its a metric gearset.
It theory it would bolt up yes, ypu would bw better off swapping the entire assembly though. For the limited slip to work you would have to already have quadra drive 2, and if ypu have that it means that you have a front axle that would need to be swapped as well. To get both of those I don't even want to know how much that would be from a dealer, and you won't find one in a junkyard... Your other issue is your speedometer would be off so you would have to have the comouter flashed for the correct gear ratio, which who knows if that is even possible.
For the gains you would get out of it to me it wouldn't be worth it, but its your money.
IT IS THE SAME SIZE RING GEAR assuming he has the hemi. It is 230mm's. Jeep hasnt used Dana since the WK or WJ. It is still used in the wrangler but that is it. Either way I told him to use the entire assembly because it would be a lot less work than to put a new ring and pinion set in. I doubt the sell just the ring and pinion anyways. You might want to double check on that. As I said either JP or 4 Wheeler had a recent article on this. Ok I lied, it is 5mm bigger than the 225mm in the hemi or diesel, either way the best thing would be an assumbly swap. The front axle is the same either way, 195mm.IT IS THE SAME SIZE RING GEAR assuming he has the hemi. It is 230mm's. Jeep hasnt used Dana since the WK or WJ.
