Same problem. Battery not charging. Hasn’t affected anything as of yet, hopefully it stays that way.
It was covered under my warranty. They also provided me with a free rental so that I could get home. In reality, it took them about an hour to complete the work. They said that both batteries failed the "GR8 Test". It works correctly now.

Having the same issue on my 17 GC Summit.
Can I just remove the AUX battery altogether? I don't care if the stop/start feature works or not and would rather not deal with this every 2 years, especially if it negatively affects the main battery.

Some have talked about disconnecting the battery, but I haven't seen many (if any) long term reports. The system will definitely be unhappy and probably light up some warning lights. In theory the main battery should charge okay.

I've found that it takes a lot of driving (long trips) to keep the batteries fully charged (even with my ESS disabled). So I will not periodically hook up a trickle charger to top off the batteries. I think this is a cleaner solution than removing a battery. Both batteries are involved in starting, so I feel more secure with both batteries installed. I replaced both at the same time, and do mostly short trips in my new home - so that is why I'm periodically charging mine manually. I got 3 years out of my batteries before the move - only time will tell if I can get at least that much with my new routine.

If you keep yr GC in a garage, buy a Battery Tender and hook it up overnight.

We have a 2020 Jeep grand Cherokee trailhawk with 13,500 miles and I am receiving the same information on my screen. Battery not charging. I made an appointment with Jeep and I am still under warranty. Hopefully it’s a simple fix.

Stop/Start Not Ready-Battery Charging message.....I know this has been discussed before but was wondering on the highway last night it showed 14.3 volts. Is that normal or kind of a high? (45-minute drive at 76mph) The Jeep is still under factory warranty so I'm gonna make an appointment to have it checked this week. ....I need to go to the dealership anyway to find out what's taking so long on getting a new radio over the delaminating screen issue.... It's been almost two months since it was ordered. I recently picked up a new front plate I guess it has two meanings :sneaky:

I waited 2 months for the radio screen. Not made for the southern heat. Mine was turning the heater on and it's 96 outside. My problem is the constant Start/ Stop issue. I don't get any battery charge warning. The thing just stalls. The battery was replaced under warranty and still a constant problem. Sometimes the stall is 2 hrs. sometimes 10 minutes. I try to remember to turn the button off but I forget and it stalls again. 2017 Compass Limited.

In my opinion it’s an unnecessary “warning” not worth panicking over.
there are so many variables baked into the ess system. It’s only on the vehicle to try and meet stringent EPA bs targets.
It is an annoying system that 99% of people turn off. And perhaps by design it has so many parameters to disable it to avoid the vehicle having 1,000,000 start cycles in its lifetime, while keeping it “legal” (technically it has start/stop, it just conveniently rarely works 🤫)

"The thing just stalls?" You mean sometimes it works as intended? Or something worse than that?
