Please be kind in responses as I haven't been able to find what I am looking for in my search of this forum, so I may be asking something that has already been answered.

I notice my jeep, running or not, lowers itself after a short amount of time of sitting in one spot. I noticed it first when I was still in the garage after getting out of the jeep, I heard a motor near the front of the jeep run and the jeep lowered a bit... then last night I was waiting for my wife to pick something up in a store and I had the engine running. It lowered itself after about the same amount of time.

So, does this happen when the suspension detects no movement for a certain period of time, or is it something else?

According to one of the manuals it is normal for the Jeep to self level itself after being turned off. I noticed it for the first time yesterday.

I could see it when you turn it off...but this was still running. Might be a time limit thing.

Did it lower itself to entry/exit mode? You may have discovered the feature that everybody's been looking for. There was supposed to be a selection in the EVIC to have the car lower automatically after being put in park. So far I don't think anybody has found it.

Next time you're in the Jeep, could you check the suspension settings and see if there are any options. When was your Jeep built?

No idea when it was built.. and I didn't notice if it was in any particular mode. I normally drive in sport mode so its already in aero mode when I put it in park. I will pay attention next time and will check the EVIC.

I do notice that it doesn't do front and back lowering or raising the suspension at the same time.. it does front then back then front etc.. until it is at the height it is being set to. I figured it would just raise all wheels at the same time. Might be something to do with speed of the pump or something, not sure. Is that how everyones does it?

The manual says this is the way it's supposed to work. It says it raises back then front when raising, and lowers front then back when lowering. It says this is to keep the headlights from pointing up into drivers' eyes (you can raise/lower while driving), though I would imagine if they were to do it perfectly synchronized that wouldn't be an issue. It seems like it may also be safer from an aerodynamic sense when performing while driving.

Is it possible it is going back to normal height once you put it in park? Since you are no longer in sport mode, there is no reason for the suspension to be in aero mode.

But it was in Aero mode already, the only thing under that is entry exit if I recall.. and it was definitely going down.

Normal operation. Don't be alarmed. My 2014 does the same.

My '14 Overland does that too. Noticed it a couple days ago when staring at it in the garage while it was turned off.

It's all about looks (according to the O.M.)

After the engine is turned off, it may be noticed that the
air suspension system operates briefly, this is normal. The
system is correcting the position of the vehicle to ensure

I've noticed the same ring on my 2013 Overland. I just assumed it was the self leveling function. I am not worried about abnormal function.

My wifes 2011 did the same thing and our 2014 is no different. Lowers itself a bit after it is turned off. However when it does lower when off it does not lower it all the way to the "entry/exit height"
