I have a 2011 Overland. I've gone through the rear shock nightmare. With less than 30k, it just got it's 4th set. I have no squeak now but what sounds like a popping sound when the suspension in the rear is torqued. Thought maybe it was a door or a window at first but I went through everything to no avail. For my money it sounds like a pop from the suspension. I have seen comments regarding the anti-sway bar and lubricating and tightening. Does the factory anti sway bar have grease fittings? I moved to MT from SC and no longer have my major man cave garage so going up under it is a bit of a PIA. It reminds me of a pop I had with a Hellwig anti-sway bar I put on an Excursion (Miss that truck!) when there were bolts not completely tightened on the axle mounting plate.

Someone please tell me how it can be soooooooooo hard to make a quiet suspension. I've never had a vehicle that has had so many suspension issues. It just baffles me--its not rocket science but you do have to test designs before you toss them out there. I hate being an involuntary Beta tester for a company. I know you can't predict every scenario for a suspension but these are simple things showing up driving on asphalt. I am having concerns about Chrysler going back to poor quality control like the 70's and early 80's. They need to recall some Jeep Liberties for potential fire issues with a rear impact but they are not going to do it. That reallys sucks and makes we owners feel very special....sorry that morphed into a bitch session but I get on a roll when I get angry and frustrated with somethhing that's been a problem for a year and a half and it's still making noise:slapfight:

Interesting you would mention the washing. The other weekend I cleaned everything imaginable and it was mostly quiet for 2 days and then it came back. Is there anything to lubricate around the upper shock mounts? I am anxious to get some rim slip and give it a try. After 4 sets of shocks, I'm wearing down and had all but abandoned hope. I do wish I could figure out THE spot as it sounds like my left knee:lol:

erenstd--new one. I jacked the car up, took off the right rear wheel, lubricated every bushing I could find with thick silicone. Now its worse--jacking the car up must have done something with the shock which it seems to always come back to. I cannot believe Jeep cannot manufacture shocks and mountings that don't pop. It's insane!!!!! I'm going to try another dealer since I've been to this one 8 or 9 times with no resolution. I guess hope springs eternal. Sooner or later I WILL get the pop fixed!!
