Hope anyone has any insight on front end squeaking:

I picked up my TH one week ago. Have about 350 miles on it thus far. Shortly after possession noticed a squeaking/creaking come from end passenger side. Only happens at low speeds. Most pronounced on braking. Can hear it from the inside of the vehicle...outside I can't because the engine is too loud.

Thoughts? Figuring something with the wheel well? Suspension?

Thanks fellas. Planning a dealer trip most likely...

I have the same exact issue with my TH which I noticed after pick up. Its been at the dealer for over a week to get fixed and has been such a pain.

I brought it into service on Wednesday January 24th and they told me they could correct it within 2-3 days. I was totally happy with that.

After 2 days, they tell me that they have to fly in an engineer from Star/Chrysler to look specifically at my TH because its a "Special Performance Vehicle" -_-

Another few days pass...After said engineer took a look, the follow up to tell me its an issues with the control arm and/or ball joint and ordered a part that would take a few more days. I couldn't disagree so told them to keep it longer.

Part arrives this past Thursday February 1 and due to them being "busy", I'm waiting for them to install/fix everything (there were some other issues I told them to fix in the meantime, but not relevant to this post) on Monday when I hopefully pick up the TH.

Will provide update below once I go back to the dealer to make sure they did in fact fix the squeaking. It's a warranty fix so no cost for me.

TrackHawkJoe--for my TH, the dealer eventually said they 're-torqued everything' and 'lubricated everything.' Not exactly sure what they meant because didn't have an opportunity to talk to the tech, but it did get rid of the problem.

Fingers crossed your TH will be okay with the repairs.

There is also a TSB about a heat shield rubbing causing the squeak. Something about loosening the engine mounts and pushing the engine as far right as possible.

My TH is making a squeak and I have not had a chance to get it looked at yet.

The dealer fixed my squeaking. They said they had to replace the upper control arm and made some adjustments to stop the squeaking. Haven't really had a chance to drive it as it is back at the dealer to fix some body panel issues. I'd like to put on at least 300 miles to make sure the squeaking doesn't come back before I can say it has been "Fixed". Hopefully not the same issues Hassanusc had where the squealing came back. That sucks!

AND THE SQUEAKING/CREAKING IS BACK!!! After about 500 miles. No idea what the hell to do with this thing anymore. Escalated a separate issue to FCA. Looks like I'll tack this issue on to that list as well for good measure. Easiest thing to do is to just replace it with a new Trackhawk I say. I'll keep giving them hell until I get my money back or a new one.

Trackhawkjoe...I took my TH to the dealer for the 2nd time this Friday. Different dealer for a different opinion. They say 'nothing wrong.' But the squeaking/creaking/groaning is constant and MADDENING.

I will be escalating to FCA as well.

No way I can drive this vehicle for 4 years with this maddening creaking/groaning coming from multiple corners and areas.

And this should not be normal...did not have this issue with my WK2 SRT.

Will keep all updated...

An update for those who may have similar issues on the ongoing creaking/groaning problems on their new TH.

I have the TH into a dealer for the 3rd time. Had to test drive it so they would recognize the problem. They say they have isolated some of the groaning to the B pillar and will be performing a service bulletin repair on it.

Fingers crossed...the dealer this time has had the TH all week...

I did take it back to the dealer and they fixed the squeaking on the front passenger side (fingers crossed), but after they had the vehicle dropped off for me at my work, I noticed the creaking in the rear passenger side is still there and worse. It sounds like it's coming for the inside but I am not sure.

The notes on the invoice ($0) they gave me read as follows:
"customer states there is a creaking type noise on the right front area while driving and worse when slowing to a stop. Opened new Star case, referenced previous Star case, loosened all suspension bolts in front and rear suspension, got in contact with FCA SRT engineer, was told there was problems with the flange on passenger side of the cradle being bent and rubbing into body, causing noise to travel throughout the whole vehicle, found flange rubbing against body creating noise, bent flange back into place and road tested to verify noise was gone, service manager also road tested, confirmed fixed"

Now I am making the come back to fix the creaking in the rear. This will be the 3rd time back to the dealer for creaking noises. My countless trips back to the dealer for body panel issues seems to finally be over (fingers crossed).

THJoe...yes, I have the same creaking: rear passenger, coming from inside. Dealer finally sait it was the B pillar after I test drove it for them. They then did a 'service bulletin' repair. Didn't work. So they said the contacted Chrysler for further assistance.

8 days at the dealer this time and still waiting...

There was a service bulletin for the C Pillar, sunroof area I referred my dealer to. Hopefully that will fix it. See attached pic.

I am having the same issue. Only happens occasionally. Subscribed to see if the TSB fixes yours and to see how it was done. Worried about taking it in and having it worked on and end up with a leak or something else. I can live with it for now.

Service manager called me back today to tell me after reapplying the adhesive, there was still some sound he wasn't satisfied with.

He took a look at the rest of the roof where that crossbow runs across to each C Pillar (roof support beam) where adhesive was supposed to go and noticed a shit job done by the factory. He is taking it upon himself to keep the Trackhawk longer and removed the headliner to expose the roof and the bow to reapply adhesive everywhere. He noticed spots missing this adhesive that may cause creaking months or years from now. I told him to go forward and should have TH back next week hopefully squeak free.

FCA is in the loop and once everything is said and done, I will make them compensate me somehow. Hopefully a few car payments worth. Dealer has had car for a total of one month back and forth from me to them.

Great thread raising some of the possible causes of squeaks and rattles. From past experience where they SOUND like they are coming from is often very deceptive in a vehicle.

My 2014 SRT has been very reliable with no problems but it is a bit worrying how hard these have been to pinpoint requiring input from the "mothership". Especially of concern here in the antipodies where access to specialist Jeep mechanics is nowhere near as good and these vehicles cost north of $145K. I'm surprised how a chasis in use for several years should come up with new problems like these.

An update on my TH:

Dealer has had the TH for 2 weeks now; did the service bulletin, said the creaking persisted; so they did something different with adhesives, said didn't fix the issue either. They have brought FCA into the loop, as have I. Now they are waiting for the 'Chrysler engineers' to tell them what to do next.

The creaks/groans are definitely bad enough such that they make the TH unlivable--after all this is a $100K. Cringe-worthy creaks and groans.

FYI, neither my prior Jeep SRTs had this issue.

Will continue to update...

Oh boy, seems like several have this issue. Thanks for being the first ones to have a crack at it. I can’t be out of mine for more than a week so I will continue to wait. I wasnt planning on it but I may get an exhaust to help mask the sound now....
