Hey Everyone,

I want to ask your expertise advice, I have an '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 and the valve stem (TPMS) on the rear left tire has corroded and I need to get it fixed. Is there any way to replace this without removing the tire and all? Hope I explained it okay.

Usually a tire shop can check them pretty cheap (2-10 bucks + price of the new valve stem/sensor). I would call around and check on prices. They usually only have to air the tire down enough to break the bead right where the valve stem is to check it or replace it. You may even be able to do this at home if you really wanted. Does your Evic display show it's bad at all? If it's not giving you an error message it should still be working properly even with the corrosion there. But if you are worried about it, I would take it to a tire shop.

Hey Thanks for the help. Can I purchase the valve stem separately or is it one piece? They sell this piece on ebay (link below) and I am not sure if this is it.

Sorry for the late reply. I would try it and see. I can't say for sure if it will work or not. I know certain sensors are two separate pieces and others are one unit. If it doesn't work, you only wasted a 8-10 bucks on it. You can buy aftermarket sensors off rockauto.com for about 20-30 if it doesn't and you could install it yourself or have it installed for only a few bucks.

Had some problem with the same year jeep. Sensor was one piece so no easy fix. Cost 75 pounds including programming.

New s limited now and guess what i have a broken one already but i thing on the 2008 WK S Limited are two separate bits the stem and the sensor. ( so i hope) i will try to replace it and keep you post it.

Did anybody wrote a letter to Jeep about this problem?
