Went on a little 600 mile round trip to pickup a new to me John Deere garden tractor. Longest trip yet trailering in this vehicle, but not the heaviest load pulled. Rented a uhaul trailer, unfortunately I couldn't rent one way, so I had to pull the unloaded trailer about 300 miles, which sucked. But once I had a load back there, once again the Jeep handled it great. Pretty flat terrain but I had more then enough power to pull the ~2000lb loaded trailer, never saw a significant rise in any critical vehicle stats. Braking was better then expected even throwing in a few emergency stops (no brakes on trailer).
Part of the trip was in the pooring rain and I found the SNOW mode to provide more confident traction then AUTO. In general I have been pretty disappointed with the AUTO program. I also think these Michelin tires are just terrible in wet weather, I cannot wait to get a better poor weather tire on. I got about 19 mpg which was within 1/2 mpg of what I usually get, considering my RRO roof rack.
