Well guys, this past Friday was full of surprises. I showed up with my 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited for oil change and tire rotation and the boys at the dealership parked a 2014 Summit in Black parked strategically where I would see it. I parked and of course, they walked out asking me what I thought. I was in awe!

I love my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit but some 10 hours later, pulled the trigger and traded it in for the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. I compared the 2011 to the 2014 and found 12 new enhancements including Harmon Kardon speakers (19 of them) whereas the 2011 had 10. Only disappointment was removing the rear window latch. I use that all the time!

At any rate, I pick up the new Jeep on Friday but the dealer doesn't have a new 2014 brochure for the Grand Cherokee's. Does anyone have one?? I usually like to look and memorize those! ;)

Bought my 2014 GC ltd on 4/2 and was told brochures haven't been printed yet, but they would save me one when they come in...sometime this summer!

Congrats! I couldn't get a brochure from my dealer either this past weekend. How many miles did your 2011 have and how much did they give you on trade.

Before you take delivery, check panel gaps, especially the rear liftgate. Many have been misaligned. Also check centering of steering wheel when going straight down freeway.

I traded in a 2012 Overland and a couple things I noticed they changed (cheapened) on the 2014, the rear spare tire cover is very light compared to the one the 2012 had. Also just noticed yesterday, if you put vehicle in gear while the parking brake is engaged, on the 2012, the brake warning light in the IP would blink, on the 2014, the light just stays on solid. Also the metal bars on the rear cover used to be chrome on the 2012, now on the Summit, they look like stainless or nickel.

Other than that, and even with the defects on mine, I like the vehicle. Good luck.

Hi. My Jeep had 29116miles and I got 33,500 which I felt good about. The new 2014 Summit has 38 miles on it and they received it early last week. The guys at the dealership are the best. When I came back to sign the papers which were already prepared, they have a buyer for my 2011.

Thank you for the tips Bob. I will check those out.

I managed to grab one at the NY Auto Show and it is of high quality print and paper with some "embossing" on certain prints. However, it is exactly the same one found on here:

USA - 2014 Grand Cherokee sales brochure

***I have noticed that more and more auto manufacturers are going the "green" route where they direct most people to go online to view the brochures***

Congrats! Same thing happened to me...had my 2008 Overland in for an oil change on a Friday and what 'happened' to be parked near the showroom...a 2014 Summit in Brilliant Black. Suffice to say a test drive later and I was hooked and bought it the following Wednesday.

Thank you AbleRiot. I am great with going 'green'. I try to be socially conscious whenever possible but at least tell the consumer. This information should be provided by the dealer.

they like to tell you they are being green, but it's more about the 'green'.

A lot of it can be saved by cutting the brochure print costs.

Didn't do a trade in...but have had a problem with the shifter already! She had to go back to the dealer on a flatbed, with the engine on, the trans in drive and the emergency brake keeping her still. Would not turn off. Not even 300 miles on her. The dealer has been terrific, though, through all of this.

The e-shifter is my biggest concern about the new Jeep. My friend's BMW X5 has the same type of shifter and he had numerous problems with that shifter. I hope this is the only time you have problem w/ your Jeep's shifter.

Cheers,

Saving "THE GREEN" is really what they are doing. BMW tried not publishing brochures back in MY 2010 in the US by saying they were saving the planet. They caught hell for it from customers and for MY2011, they printed brochures. But I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing it again.
