Is this the first release of the 8.4 or are they on other Chrysler vehicles already? I remember when I first got my '10 Maxima, every now and then the screen/audio/nav would reboot randomly but "eventually" fixed by a TSB

I was actually heading back from lunch today and my screen went blank, the Jeep logo appeared, and then went back to normal without having to restart it. Sound was off, so I don't know if it kept playing or not. Haven't had any of the other issues though.

The version of the 8.4 in the Grand Cherokee is a new release. The 2013 Ram might have got it too, not sure. Someone hopefully knows...

i read somewhere that the auto heated seat and steering wheel does not turn on if the outside temperature is above 40F.
someone may correct me if I am wrong, but it may be in the manual.

• Auto-On Driver Heated/Ventilated Seat & Steering
Wheel With Vehicle Start — If Equipped
When this feature is selected the driver’s heated seat and
heated steering wheel will automatically turn on when
temperatures are below 40° F (4.4° C). When temperatures
are above 80° F (26.7° C) the driver vented seat will
turn on. To make your selection, touch the Auto Heated
Seats soft-key, until a check-mark appears next to setting,
showing that setting has been selected. Touch the back
arrow soft-key to return to the previous menu.

That's pretty much how it works on my Overland as well. Wish it would do the same when started by the push button too, as I don't often remote start.

Maybe it's just me, but I will remote start my vehicle as I walk up to it just to get the climate system going, and not actually hit the start until I'm ready to drive off.

I have issues with mine in the Overland. It doesn't remember the auto climate control. I have to push the auto button every time I get in it. Their are other issues with it as well.

So, VOTS has gone from Production Scheduled on Monday morning, to Frame on Monday evening, to Trim Tuesday afternoon, to Shipped this morning. But with so many reports of problems with the 8.4AN rebooting, losing settings, locking up, etc. my question is, is there ANYONE out there NOT having problems with the 8.4AN? I know what we read on these forums is usually from a small number of owners who ARE having a problem. But I'm not hearing a lot of "no problems here" posts yet and that makes me nervous. I love my '11 JGC X but this one is for my wife and she will have little tolerance for weird crap happening.....and I will suffer MUCH more than the dealer.

2014 summit having the same screen freezing problems. Has happened about every other day. Wife's car but I am the one paying the price each night. Hope they come up with a fix soon - I can't take much more.

I have 2500 miles on my 2014 Overland.

Today, while going through St. Louis, I selected a Fav to go to. The route calculation screen came up, the map showed the whole route, but the percent complete stayed at 0% - never changed. Tried to go to a burger place 1/4 mile away - no luck. I tried again and while it said it was calculating, I chose OPTION - SHORTEST and got the dark screen with the sequencing dots. I could not get any other Nav screen (BACK did not work). I could still run the radio.

Got out my Garmin to navigate through the city and towards Texas.

A while later, I pulled over, turned the engine off, and let the display time out and go black. Everything worked fine after that.

I sent an email to Tech Support asking if there was a way to reset the Nav while moving. They told me to see my dealer to diagnose it.

A few hours later, the Nav volume was faint. I checked Nav volume and it was at 10 - I thought I had set it to 18 weeks ago. I increased it to 18 and it sounded normal.
