I see that a new iPhone Uconnect app was released. I now have version 1.1.9 but I still don't see the Via Mobile ability. The help section on the App mentions Via Mobile.

Anyone know what "performance updates" they did to this version?

i was under the impression (just the idea) that there wont be anything special about the app. Just that you need it installed... the apps on the radio would be what you use.

But... just fire up Pandora (or whatever) and use the USB or BT connection.. works perfectly. no need for the apps at all lol

Instructions (can't remember where I saw them) tell you to enable "Via Mobile" in the uconnect app on your phone under settings. There isn't an option to do this in the settings area on the iPhone app yet which tells me they didn't enable this feature yet. I presume they will still add some type of "enable via mobile" option in the phone app.

Here's a thought, hope it makes sense...

I was looking for this the other day too, but I looked for it after I already signed up for the free one year trial subscription of Uconnect access/advantage pack. So I assume that the "Via Mobile" ability was automatically disabled as the Uconnect system already had direct access to the cellular network and doesn't need to gain access through an iPhone.

Via Mobile is to allow radio/music streaming services to work through your radio (controlled through it). You have to sign up for it because it will use your own cell phones data for it. "Via" mobile.

The thing is, if you start up Pandora and plug in the usb cable, you can see the album art AND skip to the next song using the radio already (At least on iphone)

After searching manuals, Mopar owner connect and other websites etc. I decided to give the Uconnect helpline a call. The answer as to why via Mobile doesn't work was pretty simple... It has not been released yet. Official release date is September 1. Strange that this release information was not mentioned in the appropriate section of the Mopar owner connect site, but whatever, I'll wait for September 1 and see if it works then.

I also just noticed that on the uconnect site, it says that you can "Flash your headlights" from the app... nope. cant do that lol (and who would want to wait 1 - 4 mins while the signal gets to the jeep lol)

Common man! have you ever lost your car at a NFL game or Christmas at the shopping mall. My wife lost it at Walmart and 3 minutes was not too long. All you have to remember on the App is your password and pin number
