I have a few big dogs and I am very nervous about putting them in the cargo area without the sides being protected. Currently I have the cargo liner tray (which DOESNT cover the sides at all of the cargo area) and I also have the canvasback which provides a very thin cover which in my mind only protects from hair and light scratching.

Did a little more looking recently and I found this:
trunk-liners- Extendable

Anybody have this? If so how does it fit? Do you have the "extendable" version which extends out when the back seats are folded or just the regular (rear seat not folded) version?

Main reason I am very nervous about this is that when I test drove a Jeep for a night (havent even picked up my Diesel JGC yet..) I put my dogs in there and the first time my big Rhodesian Ridgeback (120lbs) scratched the floor a bit when he was only in there 5 minutes tops! You can argue that there is a low chance of him scratching the sides of the cargo area or the rear lift gate when he is laying in there with blankets but I dont want to have to worry about it so this money might be worth it if it puts my mind at ease.

Any opinions or reviews!?!? Thanks in advance!

Ordered and have the Mopar. Is is the most rubber like liner out there. The weather beaters and Huskys are more plastic like. I wanted something that will keep things from slipping around back there.

This definitely looks like a good idea. My previous car was a nissan xterra and the rear cargo area and back side of the seats were lined with a heavy duty plastic, which made transporting anything dirty a breeze. I think this would be an awesome investment. Great find!

Thanks JustinB60. After seeing your post, I researched the Trunkliners site, and decided to order. I am in Canada, so I may not get it for 3 or 4 weeks (Customs and Brokerage), but I will let everyone know what I think of it once I have it, if there is still interest. I ordered the extendable one with the additional bumper guard.

No dog at this moment, so will primarily use it for firewood, chainsaw, camping, that sort of thing. Liked the fact that it has some rigidity to it vs other ones I looked at that were made of cloth and didn't seem to offer a lot of side protection.

Yea tell us how you like it! Although I will also since I just ordered the same combo as you... along with a tailgate guard for when the dog jumps in and out. I really think these will be high quality and the guy who runs the place answers the phone so he knows all the details about them. ONE THING TO NOTE: IF YOU WANT THE SPEAKER SECTION NOT CUT OUT YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM THIS WHEN ORDERING... OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE A CIRCULAR CUTOUT AT THE SPEAKER IN THE CARGO AREA. I ordered mine without the speaker cutout since I can just move the balance of the speakers to the front the few times I will be taking my dogs places. A little bit of muffling on the speakers is well worth the speakers not getting smashed or destroyed in my opinion.

Video_Pilot, If you want your speaker cutout then leave your order as-is otherwise just give them a call today or tomorrow and I am sure he can make sure not to cut that section out if you want the full protection on the sides.

Thanks for the info about the speaker. I will call home right away. Seemed like a great guy, - very attentive, - but he did not mention the speaker cutout, and I did not think to ask ( think I just assumed it would not be cut out). Definitely would prefer the speaker to be protected when I'm firing ( OK, - "gently firing" ) firewood in there.

Just called him, and he said he was working on another GC one right then. Said, "you're the second guy that asked to not have the speaker hole cut out".Asked him if the guys name was Justin, and sure enough it was, and that's the one he's working on. Told him about Jeep Garage and that there were a few guys awaiting our orders to evaluate. After this he said he was very happy that it was being discussed on the forum and was going to work on mine as soon as he was done yours Justin. Thanks!, got my ship, date bumped up by about a week!

Great find! You have peeked my interest as well. I have a weathertech in there now, but it is a bit too plasticy and moves around a bit more than i would like.

The expandable idea on this is awesome.

Only negatives I am thinking about... will this also slide around on the metal bars in the cargo area and therefore not sit very well? Wish Jeep wouldn't of put those stupid things in there.

2nd, If you have it extended and want to load from the side through the passenger doors, you won't be able to because the sides of the liner will be blocking the opening, right?

If anyone gets one of these soon, please post reviews because I am seriously considering purchasing.

Thanks!

Good points Jamesia30... the second one is a very legitimate concern. When opening the side doors the full height liner will be there in your way... that being said the liner isn't super thick and should be able to be pushed back a bit if you want to grab something. The sliding concern is something also I am curious about but I dont think it will end up being an issue based on my discussion with the guy who makes these. We will find out soon I guess!

Glad you were able to update your order to fit your needs Video_Pilot! If you call this guy up and say "Justin sent you from JeepGarage" he will move your order up a bit compared to the guys who just order online anonymously... mainly because I told him he would be in the spotlight on the first group of us that received them! I told him we would all be posting photos and reviews on this website with hundreds of potential customers so I am sure he will put a lot of work into making sure we are happy with our end result!

Hey guys -- have been emailing Anthony, he said 2 mats for jeep garage members are going out today :) Did you guys order the extendable versions? One of my questions was about the anti-slip mat, and he did say the expandable version comes with 2 anti slip mats, which is great. When you guys get yours please post photos and reviews. If you are happy with them, i think I will be ordering. Thanks!

He told me two... hopefully he sends you two as well! You should get 1 sized for the cargo area (short size) and one for the fully extended size (long size). He also mentioned to me to expect to have to air all of the pieces out for a few days when you receive them since they will have a little bit of an odor at first when we receive them.

Unfortunately not here, but no surprise to me, as I am in Canada, and UPS custom clearance is usually less than stellar in my area. Unfortunately I will be away for a week, so won't have my eyes on it for a while. I'm anxious to hear Justin's opinion of it!

I just got home last night from work and it was on my porch! Two things before I give some details... it was dark when I got home and its raining out all of today so I will not be able to post pics. I will get some up soon... at the latest I'd say Monday!!

Its funny because everything comes in a box about 5 inches square by about 3 1/2 ft long... I almost didnt think he sent me everything at once! Well all I got to last night was pulling all of the materials out of the box and laying it on my workbench. The two rubber, anti-slip, mats were included and those are the things which need to be left out for a little time before being placed in your car because they have a little bit of a plastic/rubberish smell to them. I pulled those out along with the bumper guard and all the materials look great! Only concern I had on either of these pieces was the mats are pretty soft in order to create a good grip on the hard plastic liner and I think my big male dog might tear them up in a short period of time due to his long nails. Because of this I will always make sure I have blankets in the back of my car to help protect his incredibly sharp and strong claws from messing up these softer material mats. Ok on to the main cargo "box" and the tailgate guard. These two items consist of a VERY hard somewhat thin black plastic that a prefolded at the locations you have to fold them. Because he ships everything rolled up I think it'll take a day or so for the plastic to want to flatten out without causing too much trouble. Also these plastics have a thin clear protective layer on them which has the designers writing on it saying "remove this clear layer before placing in car" and there are a few other notes on them such as "this piece goes inside of the other piece". Just looking at these notes I already understand how it goes together... because I got the extended version there are two big pieces and one slides into the other one.

As I said before all I have done so far is unroll everything to let it air out and uncurl from being all rolled up and boxed for a few days during shipment. Once the rain stops I will go out into the garage and put them together and take a few pictures. Unfortunately it wont happen Sunday because I am helping my friend cut down another tree and then I have a hockey game in the evening. Can you guys wait until Monday!?! Maybe I'll try to take a quick shot of the materials...but they look the same as the photos on his website. I dont have a Jeep yet (diesel is still being held) so I cant exactly show it placed in the vehicle until that arrives either. Regardless I'll give more details Monday!

Side note here is my little monster that caused me to buy this higher level of protection for the back of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. His name is Max... he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback (ridgeless) and he weighs 120lbs without being fat at all. His head is bigger than mine.. no lie!

Thanks for the info! Although I didnt realize you dont have a jeep yet, was hoping to see pictures of it in a jeep. The canada guy should be able to take care of that though. No rush assembling just post when you get to it!

Did you happen to see the photo on the website that shows one of these liners in the Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Here it is:
