No codes, no lights…just room temp air blowing from vents and temp needle creeping up. Luckily happened right before I pulled in my driveway. Turned the engine off and took this video. Faulty thermostat?

video here
Had something similar happen to my 2015 Jeep Patriot, it would get hot but would never fully overheat. What was weird was that the needle would go 3/4th of the way over on the temperature gauge but no further. Took it in and it turned out to be a bad thermostat, surprisingly the Patriots have 2 of them. One thermostat went bad and the other was trying to compensate for it. Those are my 2¢ I hope it helps 👍🏻

Glad you figured it out! Replaced the thermostat and burped the system yesterday. Idled it twice until it warmed up to operating temp. Took it for a drive around the block. Didn’t go over the 1/2 way mark and seems to be okay now.Guess only time will tell. Boiled old thermostat and I suspect it wasn’t opening ALL the way. Always a guessing game LOL

To update- replaced the thermostat and thoroughly burped the system. Let it idle, drove it around, ran errands, stop and go traffic, highway speeds, etc…all was fine for two days. Randomly did the same thing again today. Left it parked at work. Coolant level has been good and fan seemed (keyword seemed) to be working. Couldn’t tell if it was on while it was overheating. 😭😭
