Just took my NEW 2014 Summit through the car wash. Guess what. Sunroof leaks. I even joked when I picked it up at dealer that I hope the sunroof dosn't leak when I take it in for its first carwash.

You think when the dealer did Pre-Delivery Inspection and Prep and after taking it through their wash that they didn't notice? I doubt it. Leak is very noticable. Probably didn't care. I'm dissapointed now.

Also I know that at WAP we have a water leak test at the factory. I think every Van goes through it. I would assume JNAP would be the same? Must of missed mine I guess.

If Chrysler wants to compete with upscale brands then they need to improve quality. I love my Jeep but this is unacceptable and B.S!

Nevermind I have steering wheel shake at about 110km+ on highway speed. Heard it could be wheel weights and not being properly balnaced. Let's hope. Also condensation in the headlights which dissapears but dealer said nothing they can do unless it gets worse. Also some loose carpet at B-Pillar pass side. Nothing they can do about it. Not really that big of a deal but still B.S!

$74,000 MSRP Vehicle. You'd think there wouldn't any issues. Especially with their vigorous supposed quality clamp down. I knew it was too good to be true.:mad:

Dealer leveled pano sunroof and it still leaks through a car wash. Also I have steering wheel shake. Front Tires were supposedly not balanced correctly. Dealer balanced but still get shake sometimes.

Sorry to hear about those issues. unacceptable. Is the sunroof leaking on the stationary part or the the moveable? Around the glass or sheetmetal? Just wondering if it could be a gasket defect or something in the stamping.

I was hoping my Overland would be trouble free but we had a lot of rain yesterday and I was driving around town all day and my roof leaked a couple of times. Heard a gurgling sound then water started dripping from behind the sunglass holder. I'm out of town now but guess I will have to take it to the dealer next week. I'm very disappointed, especially considering my Jeep went through the extra quality audit.

Now it's time to get worried! It's raining Today, I will keep my eyes on my sunroof to check for leaks! My car had been to 2 car washes and I drove the car right after that and I haven't seen a problem. The caveat is that both times were dealer washes, one right after they took the car out of the truck and another one before I took the car... I haven't take it to a car wash myself.

if that start to happen looks like chrysler are gonna have to recall and fix the problem!

Has anyone been through lots of rain and car washes without a leak problem?

wap2012, did the dealer said anything about clogged drain or dirt in the seal rubber? I did a google search and that seems to be the main reason for sunroof leaks...

did you try to check to see if there is anything messing up with closing the sunroof? I would assume dirt isn't the problem, but maybe dealer haven't get the drain cleaned as it is supposed to!

It clearly says on Page 247 of the Owner's Manual that while the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee may be Trail Rated and can be Driven on Roads, Taken Off Road, In Sand and Through Snow............It should Never Be Washed or Driven in the Rain !! ;) ;)

Boy, you would think after having the pano roof for 4 model years now, you think they could install it so it doesn't leak. I wonder if robots install the pano roof since they install the rear liftgate and many of those were misaligned and even the so called inspectors never noticed it. Or else they figured to just let the customer deal with it. No offense to Marlon or Chevy since they don't do inspections.

Drove my Overland w/pano roof 100 miles on interstate in sometimes driving rain today, and been through the local high pressure touchless carwash. Knock on wood, no leaks.

As Chevy pointed out, the problem wasn't the tailgate alignment, it was the facia that was out of alignment. I don't know if they are man or machine installed.

No leaks here with the pano roof. Washed it the last 2 Saturdays in a row and it rained the last 2 Mondays in a row and neither time did it leak.

Not on mine. The left side of the rear window was almost touching the D pillar. The body shop had to remove some interior trim panels and move the entire liftgate to the right about a 1/4". Wait till Chrysler gets the $428.00 bill for an adjustment that could and should have easily been done at the assembly plant. Instead the so called Quality Assurance team (what a joke) put 28 miles on the vehicle and passed it off as is. Probably going back to not long ago when they figured to let the customer deal with it. That's part of what caused Chrysler to go belly up in the first place not long ago.

But I see what you mean about the rear bumper fascia also being misaligned. I could see that the right rear corner of the liftgate has a larger gap than the lower left corner. But at this time, it doesn't bother me to much.

It's a shame but this WILL BE my last Chrysler vehicle. The quality is just not there for a $55K vehicle, and probably never will be.

Right now I feel the same way.

But then I think back to the only car I ever kept for 10 years ... a '76 Monte Carlo w/400. The first six months I think the dealer had it more than I did. But once they fixed the oil leak, the power windows, the radio, aligned the two doors, got the passenger reclining seat to work and a few other thing, it was my perfect car.

I learned a long time ago, never say never.

I hope they get all the kinks out of both our vehicles sooner than six months.

Thanks. I was venting last night. I still like my Summit, but I guess a trip to the dealer is coming up soon.

I have pictures. When I take it through a touch less type car wash with the nozzle jets it leaks. The leak or drips form on the centre plastic piece of the sunroof. The dealer checked the drain tubes/holes etc and said that wasn't it which I guessed it wouldn't be. They said that the sunroof wasn't flush or level and so they adujusted the sunroof and made it more level. This actually did help to lessen the drips but it still drips when I go to this particular car wash where they use the water jets.

I've tried other car washes or soft touch washes and no drips. So must be this particular car wash has the jets set possibly really high? I'm going to get my brother to take his 2013 overland through this same car wash to see if his pano leaks as well.

I don't really want to go to the dealer again for service because they didn't fix the problem anyaway. And I don't trust their technicians. I don't want them ripping apart my headliner etc.. and then having more problems or rattles after they mess around. It's happend to my brother before where they had to remove the headliner in his 2010 JGC SRT8 and then he had worse leaks, rattles etc...

I will wait until I can get my brother's 2013 in for a test on this particular car wash. Might be just this car wash has its jets set really high psi or something. Although I've taken my 09 charger through it with no problems and no leaky sunroof. So it's just B.S.

I hate Chrysler Service. Useless.

It was raining here today for the first time since I have it and did not really notice any leaks. However, I did go on the back seat and touched on the tracks that the pano glass slides back into and it was wet. Is this normal or should I be taking I back to the dealer? It was a minimal amount of water, but was still there.

Very happy with it and so far only issue I've had with it. But it might be normal. And just the drain system.

Instead of having your brother chance making a mess of his car, why not just avoid that car wash all together?

Chrysler has not been able to fix the problem over a 4 year span so what makes you think they will be able to fix it now? Also just to let you know, recalls only apply to parts that affect the overall safety of a vehicle, so a recall aint going to happen for a sunroof.
