2001 WJ limited dual cllimate

last week the passenger side finally lost heat. Driver side heat worked but no passenger.

Ordered the blend door kit and replaced them this evening and got the heat back to the passenger.

PROBLEM-I got heat to passenger and lost AC to the driver side?>?


So prior to fix- passenger no heat but AC. Driver Heat and AC
Post fix-passenger heat and AC. Driver heat, no AC.

Any advice

Which kit did you use and how was the repair done? Probably the drivers side blend door is stuck or the actuator not electrically connected? Do you hear the actuator moving when selecting different temperatures? You could try the AC calibration, which you can find here: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK - Climate controls (eventhough the address mentiones WK, it is for the WJ)

used the kit from jgcparts.com. I tried recalibrating per instructions and the doors moved as the kit said. I went through the glove box and prior to sealing up i would adjust the climate knobs and the doors would move up and down..Now getting codes 53 and 56. was getting a 21 but that dissapeared. it sounds liikemovement in the actuators when temp is adjusted..just no cold on drivers. It's like i fixed one problem and now have another..

well, as I sat here and typed this the 53 went away and the 21 reappeared in the error codes along with the 56 which has been consistent..

21 is a current fault for the left blend door travel too small. Can it be that when closing the housing the door travel became restricted by a part of the housing?
The 56 is a historical fault. Did you disconnect the battery to errase the memory?
