Hi guys,
I have a Borla catback and Volant CAI in my 2011 5.7. Will this void my factory and 7/70,000 extended warranty? I sure hope not. Should have thought of this prior to the mods. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

i believe the general rule is only if it can be proven that the aftermarket part caused the failure

It will only void the warranty on your air intake, and exhaust -- which now you have an aftermarket warranty on those.

Magnuson Moss Warranty Act
Exactly....you beat me to it.

Simply using an aftermarket or recycled part does not void your warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket or recycled part. Still, if it turns out that the aftermarket or recycled part was itself defective or wasn't installed correctly, and it causes damage to another part that is covered under the warranty, the manufacturer or dealer has the right to deny coverage for that part and charge you for any repairs. The FTC says the manufacturer or dealer must show that the aftermarket or recycled part caused the need for repairs before denying warranty coverage

I guess to me I would think that a dealer would try real hard to blame the aftermarket part then for other problems - has anyone here had any issues with a engine warranty problem with aftermarket parts on ?
Yes. Had a Porsche dealer once try to blame a Die Hard battery for causing starter drag. I asked them if they really wanted to get involved with Sears' formidable legal department, but they refused to warranty replace the starter. After a quick call to the Porsche zone rep, the service manager called me within minutes to offer a new starter. Asked if there was another dealer within driving distance, as I wasn't happy with their attitude. The service manager was later fired for being "too profit oriented".. .. but to answer your question, just because the law states something doesn't mean an individual dealer won't try to make extra money.
