Ok, I have to say something as a 3 units-in-row-over-21-years GC owner.

I bought an absolutely stunningly beautiful 2013 GC-Hemi Laredo X, Black Metallic outer and solid black leather interior on 20' Premium wheels and tires in mid-October 2012.

It's now only March 2013, my Jeep has 6,000 miles on it and I can hardly find references or mentions of the 2013 I drive, in 2013, on this forum because of the apparent excitement and obsession over 2014's already!

It reminds me of the Iphone craze: You buy the latest, greatest version and barely get the new battery charged and when you look up from your new phone, everyone around you is chirping about the next model that isn't out yet, but people are planning to camp out in front of the Apple store in a pup tent for two days to get one.

And frankly, my 2013 looks like a real Jeep built in America, still, not a feminized Japanese-SUV looking version that 'smiles' as it goes down the street. Even my wife, who is not that into cars, mentioned to me that my GC's iconic grill, apparently the last model year they're going to offer it, "looks like a real Jeep."

So, yeah, I'm happy to report my continuing love affair with Jeep and the year 2013.

With the short model year for the '13, and the dislike of the new design, your Jeep may become a collectors item. :)

Lots of people feel how you do, nothing at all wrong with it. I like the new style more than the old in a few areas and in some other respects the opposite is true. There is no wrong answer here-Just morons who like to make snide jokes on the Internet because their retired life is apparently too boring.

Anyway, enjoy the 13. Sounds like a sweet ride.

Could'nt of said it better myself. I bought MY13 jeep at the end of January and joined this forum and ever other post is 2014 this and 2014 that. I hate the body color grills and I think that was a big mistake on jeeps part. I'm so tired of hearing about the 14's and I'm ready for the 15's to be out. Rant over

Yeah, I feel the 2011-2013 front end of the Jeep is much more Jeep than the 2014 - 2016 (to come). To me it just states "cool, calm and collected", nothing to prove, I'm a Jeep. #CantTouchThis! :D

Coming from a 2005 GC I may not have stayed Jeep if it wasn't for the 2014 model. I really wanted the 8 speed and the new Uconnect 8.4RA unit really swayed me. I love how everything is controlled by the computer even a 7 inch TFT screen instead of an old fashioned speedometer...

To each their own. Enjoy your 2013...

I wouldn't stereotype....there are morons in every walk of life, place of employment, everywhere you go there they are. That includes the Internet....

To answer your question directly, no, all retired people aren't morons. Just the ones who sit around making asshole jokes on the Internet in response to serious posts.

Hope that clarifies....

All you hear about is 2014 this 2014 that because the 2014 is just that INCREDIBLE! Im not saying the 2011-2013's are bad by any means because I owned a 2012 Overland and loved it, but IMO the 2014 makes the 11-13's look about as dated as a 2005-2010 WK...sorry guys flame me all you want, but its just how I feel :)

To answer the OP's question though, like others have said you dont hear a whole lot about your 2013 because the 2014 is really that big of a change, and the fact that the 2013 models were a very short run. Ontop of that there wasnt really any major changes to the 2013 so thats how you end up with not a lot to talk about.

If I could add one thought to this discussion, the only thing that is for sure is that things will change, whether we want them to or not, some good, some bad; we all have free will to accept or reject that change.

LOL, i guess i sort of see the point but not really. Anyone else find it ironic though that the same person making this thread picked up a 2013 in 2012 and complaining some of us are talking about 2014s in 2013? :D

I owned a 2006 limited and this can't be further from the truth. The 05-10 are drasitcally different in looks, quality, feel, etc. The '14 on the other hand have major tech improvements, but the exterior is hardly noticeable by the avg person and frankly the LED / headlights along with softened front-end look so out of place, I can see that being changed back to a more agressive look in a couple years.

I'm with ya. We bought a new '11 in December of 2011. So, our Jeep is 15 months old, but 3 model years old! I saw my first '14 close-up/walk around at Costco today. There's definitely no changes that would warrant a trade for me. I like the '14, but no better than ours. I'd actually miss a key feature of rear lift gate glass enough -- NOT to trade.

Bought my '12 at the end of Jan last year so is now two years old. Have been kown to have cars new, old, and collectible, just a matter of a few decades.

Frankly have not seen anything in the '14s I'd be willing to give more than a few Benjamins for (would have bought a diesel if was available in '12, wasn't).

Have added lots of digital stuff, is what I do, think the unmodable '14 is a great step backwards (GM was taken to court a few years ago about that) but suspect it makes the bean counters happy.

I agree 100% with the OP. I'm happy for all who ordered received or are waiting for their MY 14 however, there is no need to clog the main forum up with question upon question regarding this and that. That my friends is why they created sub-forums. Seems the mods here pic and choose what gets moved and what doesn't. Last time I looked there were 4 threads w/o going to Page 2 showing new MY 14 purchases.

The '14s have a FANTASTIC interior but it doesn't make me want to ditch my '12 Overland. The exterior refresh isn't doing it for me AND it's smiling at you....

I bought my 2011 overland new in aug 2011 for $38,400.

I can't seen to find a similar deal on the 2014s. I'd trade in if the price wasn't inflated.

If you wait until the end of the model year, like you did with the '11, you might come close.
