I know that the manual states 91 RON should be used but have any forum members have any experiences using pulp 95 and 98 RON. Is there any benefit in performance or economy using these fuels.

Thougts please.

Regards.

G'Day Bazza,

our 2015 KL Limited (V6) has just turned 12 months old and I've always used 95; and she runs beautifully.

I haven't done any comparisons between 91 v 95, but where I spend a little extra at the pump "may" be saving me in overall economy and enhancing engine efficiency.

A couple of statistics for our 3.2 V6 petrol (with 95 octane fuel):

A. After 500+km of City & Suburban driving I got 10.2 litres per 100km.

B. After 190km (2.5 hours) of Country driving I got *8.6 litres per 100km.

* = 30 minutes of that was getting through Melbourne City with Air Conditioning on (as it's 40c in Victoria). Air Con stayed on throughout the entire 2.5 hour trip.

For a 3.2 litre petrol V6 with a Full Load in Summer Heat with Air Con on, I'm happy with that :)

I get a noticeable improvement from e10 95 to standard 91, but not a cost justified to jump again to full 95.
