Ok my brother in law has a 2014 srt8 and has been asking about tuners for awhile. Reading the various threads diablosport tuning now available. which one is the best the trinity or the intune from diablosport . He just has injen CAI and just wants to use the tunes with the programmer. Does one have advantage over the other. I have Superchips on mine Im not familiar with Diablosport.

If he just wants to load and unload tunes get the in tune and save the extra money that would be spent on the trinity. Tunes are the same in each device

but if he thinks he may want a cmr in the future...the trinity is the way to go. Plus its got some toys the intune doesn't have. There not much price difference either if he buys through black ops.

Hi All,

I am a new owner of a 2014 SRT Jeep, and have a lot of ??? I just sold my 2012 Boss 302 due to an injury from my military days, so needed a vehicle with an automatic. However I also wanted a toy to play with a little as well.

I am totally dumb to anything SRT and Jeep. I want to do a few small upgrades on the engine, and then some lowering springs. I have been communicating with StormTrooper, and he has given me some good information.

I was looking at Speedlogix, who have their carbon-fiber CAI with the InTune programmer/tune for around $590 plus shipping. I have also heard of Injen and BWoody, but not familiar enough with them to comment. I had a great tuner with the Boss and never had any issues at all with codes or anything, so hoping I can find something similar with the SRT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking a some lowering springs just to get the ass down as it seems a bit high. So an inch or so all around is what I am looking for. The vehicle is black, so already have the blacked-out stuff sorted out. I am having a little problem sorting out someone who has a radar detector mount for my Escort 9500ix. Any info there would be great too.

There's 2 tuners to look at for the 2014 jeep srt. One is the Diablo trinity. ..i had one and they are pretty much paper weights unless you need a cmr rune for something specific...like a supercharger, happy gas orheaders etc. Livernois has a new programmer I've been thinking about lately. I may give it a try for testing sakes. They claim to have more tuning ability than diablo. We'll see.....

I heard the same. I believe Herrod Motorsport are the Aussie distributor for SCT. Used SCT for a number of Fords over the years with nothing but good things. I'll give him a buzz and report back what I find out.

Well that was an interesting chat. Not going to neccessarily directly help with the my14's+, but I have my '13 booked in for a SCT custom tune in a couple of weeks.

This means I should be able to get dyno comparisons between stock, Diablo canned tunes (93), custom tune via Diablos' CRM and a custom tune using SCT unit and software, be they all on different days. Will ask for a KW/Nm (HP/Tq) chart.

But more importantly (to me anyway), is not to get the greatest peak number at max rpm, but to see if there is anything more to be gained in the low/mid range.

Honestly if you're doing a few bolt ons I would skip the tune. Haven't heard one single success story on a 2014 yet. Chances are with a tune and a filter on a stick hot air intake you'll be running slower than stock. Just my .02.

I have been told that a TB upgrade along with a CAI and exhaust will do much for this 2014 SRT Jeep. Is there anything else in the power area besides overly pricey superchargers and nitros type products that are worth looking at? I'm already looking at some simple suspension mods as well. Thanks again.

I don't think simple bolt ons do a ton for power here to be honest. I have a drop in filter on my factory airbox, the Borla S exhaust, 180 tstat and an oil catch can.....cheap mods but also not a lot of power to be had from them. I'm waiting to see what some of the companies come out with as far as true cold air intakes, Bwoody is one option although I'm not crazy about having to fiddle with the washer fluid reservoir.

Scott, the Jeep Garage administrator told me he has the upgraded throttle body, CAI, 180 ts, exhaust and his 0-60 times went from 4.4 sec to 3.7 sec. That's pretty huge for bolt-ons. I just thought you might have done more. Thanks anyway.

Congrats on the jeep! I hope to join you in the next few weeks with a 2014. As far as mods go, I think the ripp supercharger is pretty fairly priced and offers a nice bang for the buck compared to doing all the bolt ins and full exhaust system. Not sure if I'm going that route as I don't want to void the warrantee but a supercharger system alone on these beasts do wonders compared to bolt ons. I'd like to run high mid 12's in negative da so for my future needs I feel a few light mods will suffice. But you seem to have a need for speed . Thanks for your service btw! Jim
